Home coming next week?

I just read this article...

Ron Festejo is hardly an unbiased observer, being the creative director of the Sony project that is bringing PlayStation Home out next week, but in an interview with GamesIndustry.biz he explains that, in his opinion Home is the best looking and most user-friendly multiplayer experience he's seen so far.

Apparently Second Life is "too garish" and the rest of the MMOs are "too hardcore." Second Life users (we're not players after all) are also too geeky, and Mr. Festejo doesn't think there will be much to interest Second Lifers. Of course I'm happy to be called a geek, and not owning a playstation I won't be checking out PlayStation Home, but what do you think? Do you need to be a geek to cope with Second Life, or is he just aiming at a "cool kids" market? He probably does need to go and read the minimum specs for Second Life page mind: whilst Second Life runs on a much greater range of engines than just PlayStations, he is exaggerating saying it has to support people on Pentium II's.

yea anyways the xmb is acuatlly already finished so i kinda do believe home is coming next week. i read it on gamespot that xmb is finished and ready go so it may come true......kngkng21

ummmm it was ona gamespot forum i dont remeber but im not lying im really stoked that this news came up. also in another forum a lady that worked on sony said that home is coming very very very soon. i read this a week ago. im not lying it was ona gamespot forum try searching xmb coming soon kngkng21

Since when do you need in-game XMB to use Home? I don't believe that is true at all.

As far as them releasing home next week, we'll see but I think they were talkign about the next update to the closed beta which will take Home to version 0.8.3.

That is not saying the full interview will be released next week at all.

Home will not be out until at least April.
Deal with it.
Closed beta ends in late March, then they'll need time to prepare servers for deployment,
fix the final bugs, etc.

Seeing the closed beta is getting the 0.8.3 update for the beta this week, I don't see Home coming out next week. I'm thinking April at the earliest.

Not to rain on anyones party, but you do know that articles are misquoted all the time, right?

Granted, I would love it if home came out next week, but since the Beta hasn't even finished yet, I just don't see it being possible.
