When i first heard about home i thought it sounded like a pritty good idea but the more i see and hear about home im starting to think is there really a need for this type of thing?

It's like "hey come over to my virtual apartment and wow look i have a virtual tv on my virtualwall where you can watch clips/vids from my ps3!!!!kool"

"come over to my place so you can see my trophy cabinet.....look,look i have finished resistance on super human...how good am i:)"

"no i don't want to come and see you're new leather sofa which cost you 1.99 in real money...if it's all the same i'll just go and actually play some video game's bye"

I was trying to think of something good tosay about home and i just can't think of anything:?

I know im going to get serious negative feed back from this but im sorry it's just my oppinion i had to share with you all:P

Ive always regarded home as being the coolest interactive things on a console. I mean, sure it sounds a bit cheezy but still its something that will offer ppl something rather than JUST gaming. Im sure a lot of ppl want to meet other fans of the same genre, hang out and chill...its a virtual reality. Now im jus blabbin on, but in my opinion i think ppl will really like home. Its a cool feature that is a positive for the ps3..

If that made no sense, i agree..I was jus blabbing on and on..

Home is about providing a human interface to something that not human. But there is more to it. Think of how many people right now have a wallpaper on their computer, or a new theme... did they need it? No.... but people grave making things their own, tailoring things to themselves. Home is part of that, but it goes further, Home allows people to use some very complex functions through a simplied human interface. Still, in the end no-one knows who itll work in the end as something like this hasnt been tried before.

Well I heard with home you could be watching a movie on your ps3, and if you had a friend they could watch it from their TV at their house through home

Now if the only way to do that is through your virtual TV its sort of lame. But if you could watch it full screen then thats another story

For me what i am excited about is being able to invite a friend from halfway across the globe over to watch a movie i just rented in blue ray, and by the way they dont watch it on the small screen in ur virtual home, that becomes full screen when you start the video or movie.  I feel its a more interactive version of xbox live, and thats a step in the right direction. I used xbox live to chat with friends all over the world without the heavy phone bills, its even better than facebook

I probably won't spend too much time in my virtual space when i get one... I'm likely to hangout and talk to people and play games in the corridors and such considering I just got a new bluetooth headset :)

home will be a fun experience as far as the actual home goes... I agree... there won't be too much to do with friends in there. It'll be fun to customize on your own though. I think home will be a really fun thing to have and use.

that does sound like the best idea for home, that and trophy room will be satisfying if you do something truly difficult

I don't hate it..i don't hate anything,i just don't see the appeal everyone else see's:(

I have been playing game's a long time now and thats what i intend to keep doing, not walking around a virtual world showing off virtual trophies...all that maters to me is what i do and think about my personal achievements.

And yea the initial download and basics of home are free but ownspace and ownspace items cost money im afraid:(

Are you telling me that you'll be able to upload a bluray disk and someone else will be able to download it in real time? I don't think the PSN network can handle that let alone 99% of the PS3 owner's who don't have the bandwidth to do it. Sometimes it takes me hours to download a 3 minute video. Sometimes I get a MB every couple seconds, sometimes every minute, Sony will really need to beef up their servers for any of these ideas to work properly.

I'm not complaining, it's free afterall, I just don't think what you're proposing will be feasible for most users.

I like home and the fact that it's free is cool, but I do get what you are saying though..
