I feel Home would help the system in more ways then one, if available on the ps3 at launch. Knowing the ps3 is a year behind xbox 360. If I owned sony I would had the gamers feeling that they're purchase of the ps3 would been the best $600 they ever spent in there life. Just like microsoft, I would be pushing the ps3 on the public like a drug dealer at junior high school. I would have game like time crisis, tekken, ridge racer, etc for a quick fix for the gamer and R-FOM, DMC, Killzone Episode 1 as major titles to play to other major titles are released. No 20gig ps3. Just 60gig units. I would been in the developers ass to have game demos and ps1 titles for download. I would have rumble and bluetooth in my controllers. There will be no world wide launch, but japan, america and europe would be atleast a 1 1/2 months behind each other like it always been.

Sony been having trouble with battery recalls, sony music and other lawsuits. I understand that, but this hurry up and wait business is getting a little old. It's march now and I remember when I brought the xbox360, like my ps3 at launch. By march games was starting to sprout out of the ground for the 360 and we started getting updates that started to change the 360 system for the better and it's been a never ending story since.

I'm not a fanboy of any system. I want all gaming hardware to do well. Even the system I don't own or may not buy. I just want to get my money worth with the system I did buy. So sony, stop with the wait and make it happen.

i think sony rushed to get the ps3 out for the '06 christmas season. They couldn't let ms & nin get that far ahead. That is why there has been such a slow trickle of games coming out because developers were probably told (behind closed doors) that sony wouldn't have their final online plans in place til late in '07.

There was no need to rush.  Sony already had the fans. The ps3 for a while sold its self. If sony did more with the system by launch. The gap between the ps3 and the 360 would have shorten a lot.  Also If I owned sony. I would had the price for the games at $52.99 at launch and raise the prices as the system got further into the later date. That way if the game came out for all system, the ps3 ports would be the cheapest.

I definitely think it would have helped, but I am glad that it wasn't rushed.

I could care less about Home.(Or Miis, or achievements) I bought a PS3 for games......only for games. I'd take a single, good exclusive game over Home any day. I think of the millions they spent (and will spend) on Home, and wonder what kind of game that $$$ could have made.

How many PS3 owners would give up Home--forever, if God of War 3 was released on PS3 today???   I sure would.

"No, it would not help the system."

360 gamers honestly don't care about "achievements" as much as we do a great game.

I'm pretty sure the Wii adopters purchased their system for games as well.

I purchased my PS3 for a few games, not some Second Life/Sims application. The one thing that's lacking right now on the PS3 are games. I didn't purchase my PS3 for Blu-Ray, I didn't purchase it for Home, I didn't purchase it to be an online server, I didn't purchase it to surf the web,  Nor to do some crack pot cancer calculating. I purchased the PS3 for games....of which it has none.

You have to remember the developers make the game not sony. The games is coming regardless. Everybody like xbox live, but you mean to tell me you wouldn't like to see something that is decent done for the ps3. If you can have both good games and a good software setup for online fun. Than why not. I must admit everytime I turn my ps3 or 360 system on I don't play a game. I catch up on my demo downloads and fool around with the system for a while. I'm a adult and I work for a living and sometimes being tired from work. I may not be focus enough to get into heavy gameing. So I mess around with consoles to unwind and kill time before bed.

SONY made GoW. Sony made Home. I'd prefer they stuck to games. They won with PS1 + 2 because of the games---only because of their games. If they lose sight of that, they lose this generation, it's that simple. IMO

If you did not want anything but games, then you should brought a wii and nothing else. Go back to the old system. Those old console did nothing but games.

Sorry about that Deyee. It's your opinion and I should respect that. MY Bad.

I think sony would have benefitted from having 100 launch titles and a free ice cream cone with all systems but doesn't mean its possible.... 360 didnt have movies and tv shows until a whole year later.... Also, last year 360 didnt get background downloading or any decent games until last spring (Oblivion, tomb raider, dead rising).... seems on par with what 360 was a year ago.... having everything at launch would be great but doesnt mean its possible
