maybe because of its amazing ps2 like graphics, easy controls, the fact that its mgs, awsome story line that will make you tear, 8 player online play with awsome game modes, tons of weapons and tons of gadgets...i would say about theres like more then 20 weapons including the shield, 3 pistols, 3 assualt rifles, 1 light machine gun , 2 shotguns, 3 sub-machine guns , 1 rocket launcher, 3 different kinds of knifes, a machette, 2 sniper rifles, 5 different type of grenades, tnt , claymore, and gako...and no body say im lieing about how many weapons there are cause im looking at my list of weapons in the game right now ....

Some people dont like the controls... And once killzone gets its online patch that will be waay better
I havent played any of the other mgs games so when i first played portable ops i was a bit confused. But as i played more and more and as i got used to the controls i became really addicted. I think its a great game even though i dont know much about the rest of the mgs storyline.
How can you say someone does not have good taste simply because they do not like something you do. I admit that MGS:PO is quite a good game, but i don't go shoving it down people's faces. If you wanted to start a thread ranting on about how great it is, go ahead, but don't abuse those who choose to think differently.
I got it, best game on the psp without a doubt. The single player lasted me about 22 hours, mind you I did them really slowly using stealth so each mission took a while. The game is simply perfect in the single player.
My mate owns it and he thinks it's crap. He says it's a disgrace to the Metal Gear franchise! I had a little blast on it and i don't think it is anything special!

Interesting... you must either play games years after they come out or never play games at all :( That's sad. AAA titles never go down to that price however, which makes it even worse for you.
I might pick it up when it drops. I just would rather spend 50 bucks on a Wii game of PS2 game instead of a PSP game. I buy all the cheap PSP games now:P.

When I’ve got the money to spare I’m finally getting a PSP. I’m buying the Warriors an Ratchet and Clank: Size Matters first. After that I might get Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops. It's a toss up between that and Killzone: Liberation. Honestly I haven’t played a Metal Gear since the original solid on Playstation.
