It won't be.

It runs cooler. It uses less power. In essence, it's the same thing.

why would they need to make it cooler? it dosent over heat like the 360. I dont think it does anyway. Could we see a Price drop if this happens?

will this chip make current ps3 owners a little like out of date making the new ones less acceptable to over heating or things like that?

Yes, it doesn't overheat.

Price drop? Very possible. Apparently, the 65nm chip process is a more cost-efficient way of supplying PS3's with processors.

They are somewhat more advanced; they produce less heat, use less power, and they are more efficient to produce, but they are the same as the 90nm ones today in the amount of computing power etc. Also, they are cheaper to produce.

Out of date? Possibly. If you currently hold a unit that overheats right now (unlikely) or you cannot afford to pay the pennies more of electricity the current version of the Cell costs you (also unlikely considering you had to spend $500-$600 to pay for the system)

The new ones will be just like the old ones. Except they cost less for Sony to make. Which in turn could lead to a price drop.Â
