It really depends on the game. Some are real short, some are fairly long, but still tolerable. All disc based games will have load times, so it will vary just like different console games vary

Nothing really to be concerned about, of the 6 games I own they are all just fine, no long loading times.

mostly, they load fast enough for a handheld, but some, like burnout legends, load slowly

Most games now have very good loading times. The thing about horrible loading times is way overblown. The longest loading times you'll see in a game is when it first starts up. The actual in-game loading times are very brief. Basically what I do is before I get into the car or before I'm actually going to start playing I start up my PSP and by the time I get there its already loaded.

The old ones took a while, the new ones are pretty short, and nothing to worry about

They vary, on average they are fine. The whole "load-times" issue is overblown by fanboys, and EA sure didn't help with their horrendously coded WWE Smackdown Vs. RAW 2006.

NeoGeo CD much?

Even the older ones it was mostly a non-issue except for to fanboys who wanted to claim some kind of "ownage".

The shortest load times I've seen are in Need for speed underground rivals, they were under 10 seconds. The longest load times I've seen are in MLB 06 the show - it's so long that the brightness of the PSP goes down a level (it happens when you don't press buttons for a little while)

They are long enough to the point where it really turns the PSP into less of an "on the go gaming" device and more of a "lying bed to do some gaming before you go to sleep" device. If you want a true portable (to use in stuations like waiting in line, quick bus commutes, or on the can) stick with cartridge based systems.

Load times are pretty good for most games. The longest part is just when they are starting up, but its no longer than the start up time for a PS2. Once you actually start the games there is little loading time.

The PSP itself starts up quick, and loads stuff like videos and photos just about instantly.
