How bad is the language in PS3 games?

I want a PS3 but all the games are rated M. The blood and gore dont really bother but I have a problem with a ton of fowl language. Do games like Resistance and Call Of Duty 4 have a ton of bad language? Please give me answers for offline and online play(is there cussing offline and online).

Just look at the rating and it should tell you what it has in their. Call of Duty 4 didn't have that much, but most of foul mouth comes from online. STRONG WARNING if you go online.

The Darkness has tons of cursing in their, HUGE sailer mouth.

Same goes for GTA games

Turok had a few, but compared to The Darkness it's nothing.

Kane and Lynch Dead Men will give you the F' word all the time, trust me I used to have it haha

Yeah, I forgot about the mute button on Call of Duty 4. I haven't played it in a long time, so my bad.

It's not a bad game, I thought it was pretty good. Some levels were pretty funny.

My older brother is the same way, He can't stand it when someone curses. I don't know, I guess thats the way how he was when he grew up. *Shrugs*

Oh ok. I didnt know you could mute them. And too like all the games have strong language on the back and i cant play a game with the f word every other sentence.wiidog

Cod4 has gotten really bad recently since more people are buying this game and ps3's. The mute function was done in a stupid way. You can only mute while ingame. And the mute doesnt transfer to the lobby. People are little pricks on cod4. They use the nword soo much. They also say stuff like JOO and porch monkeys. So if you play cod4 I recommend go to multiplayer options and pull the voice volume all the way down. Lot's of racist people on cod4 nowadays.

Avoid Ratchet and Clank there is a lot of foul language specially from the little robot believe it or not...

Yeah, whatever you do, don't download Super Rub'a'Dub... I was ashamed to play such a game with such foul language. Honestly, how can you use the F word in a rubber ducky game? Beats me... (joking)

On a more serious note, Resistance has next to no swearing in it. Not sure about COD4, however in Australia it only says "Strong violence", and nothing abut swearing. As everyone else has said as well, online is where all the cursing begins. Turn the volume down or mute those responsible.
