ok normal tv is like black and white back in the days and hdmi is colour tv so theres a HUGE difference and if you don't have a hdtv to play on ps3 isnt as fun
[QUOTE="khoimichael"]you should be able to tell the difference on an HD tv. it also depends on whether its broadcasting in 1080i or 1080pZaibach
is there a big difference between 1080i and 1080p?
A good chunk of that depends on the size/quality of your television. On a monster 60 incher, yeah probably. on a 27? Not really. I'm sure some AV nerds are going to scream at me for that and say that it does indeed make a difference, but to the naked eye, not all that much, often not even noticeable.
Also, keep in mind that many/a ton of PS3 games max out at 720p and those that can be played at 1080p are mostly up-played.
I would strongly suggest HDMI
You DO NOT need to buy a stupidly expensive one, if the cost is putting you off you shoud know that ALL HDMI Cables are brillaint...even my £12 from Amazon I got.
HDMI is a must for any HDTV that can take one

If your tv is 60" or smaller than you won't be able to tell the difference, however if your tv is bigger than you should be able to see a difference. Just to let you know, 1080i stands for interlaced, and 1080p stands for progression
