Do you not think they have been thinking of that since day one?? Come on that would be the first thought sony made when they confronted them with the idea. So they have to have a really good plan already for sony to fund them.Shortbob
Actually i been thought of that since day one, been kind of busy though with my hectic schedule cough madden :P, lol, anyways yeah i was wondering about that, maybe though sony having everything planned for the game like you stated :)
i doubt there will be a monthly fee.anls4e
I believe they already stated there would be a monthly fee, they just never stated how much.
eh it might have a fee which i'll glady pay
but i have a feeling since its on sony servers...and its an IP from sony, they just might back it the necessary amount to lag free it
It would need dedicated servers. I really beleive this game will able to be lag free. The popularity of this game is what developers are counting on. Like WOW. I mean they've announce this yesterday and they'd expect the entire world would notice this. It's quite hard to get together that much of ppl to work on the same page. People would be quiting and lagging out on and off. Few would be teamkilling. It's hard to get a full room in some of the video games i play. And the average is 16/ And sure enough team communication would be tough. A game like this skill is not really required. Shooting would come in random places. Players would get frusterated. For now i just can't wait to see this new approach will work. If it is average fun i see this game suceeding.

No. Please no fee lol.
Ok.. That is not the only reason you lag Joker
If that was the case, take 256 people and throw them in a match.
Let me know how that goes for you
They better bust there ass on this if they want it to work
OMG helllll yea, if there was a 256 multiplayer campaign against like freakin armies, this game would be the best ever hands down, if they made it like a combination of gear, cod and battlefield with like thousands of eenemies, ZOMG this would just kill anything else out there prolly.Blizz99exactly...if they put a TON of thought into preplanning...this game could last for years easily. and it's zipper interactive...one of the best online game makers in history. Can't wait to see this game in a year or 2...

Guys, lag isn't the only thing MAG has going against it. Lag can be fairly easily controlled with massive dedicated server support.
The real problem is going to be how to make 128 player teams work together to win a match. The best way I can think of (I posted this on Kotaku yesterday), is to have a chain of command for communication. For example, the general can dole out commands to the highest ranking officers, who then each relay information to those below them, and on down to the grunts. That way, everyone knows his particular role in the battle, whether it's on an 8 man team basis, or someone responsible for several teams. The general can basically keep tabs on the overall progress, and make decisions on the fly, and there won't be a log jam of communication going back and forth.
Of course, this will only work with decent leadership and a commitment to headsets and teamwork... good luck with that on PSN...
i am sure they would check and make sure their servers can handle it, or it would be a waste of time to make it, believe me its going to be a great game, i used to feel Resistance 2 with 64 players was alot but now 256!
