Cant agree more with your opinion. They can put such high price on it because it will sell like crazy no matter what price it has. Its really sad that MW2 is such a commercial success. I mean there are games which deserve it more. MW2 is just MW1. Majority of whats new (killstreaks) is for the worse. What was Infinity Ward doing those two years? Yes, its easy to play so it sells a lot. Its played by nine year olds... Who are good at it. Im so glad i managed to sell mw2 for 40 bucks.

Thank you. I've been trying to convince my friends from work to try BC2 but nope they are sooooo hooked on MW2 it sickens me. One of them did try BC2 for maybe 5 minutes and called it trash. He basically tried to find excuses not to like it. They all actually believe it is stupid to drive the tank and not be able to shoot ALL of the guns on the tank by yourself, at the same time. These guys will NOT try any other game, they will ONLY play MW2 and that is it. Sad little people...just sad.

what makes me mad at iw& activision is they boast about 1billion in mw2 sales.then call the map pack stimulus pack then charge $15 for a map pack with 2 rehashed maps people arleady bought. the thing that saddens me more is people well be stupid enough to buy them. now the next map pack well probably be $20. and activision want to charge people 2play cod online when we are already the servers.these guys are the biggest thieves in gaming history at the moment i well no longer support iw&activision. i own and loved all cods! now that i dont like mw2 and iw practices im thru with the cod franchise.

How can anyone get excited about a series where a new games comes out every year? I agree with your opinion, and personally have not and will never support them.

To TC. Sorry but the PS3 browser doesnt let me quote that much text so i have to do it this way. They are so hooked to mw2 because its so easy. Get a care package, get some AC 130 and you become 'best' player of the match, get a nuke and end it. Pathetic. BC2 actualy requires skill from a player as well as teamwork. I was really bad at BC2 at the beginning but actualy got a lot better. In MW2 its mostly about who sees who first. And who has better connection :) Best thing about BC2 is that its not about kills. It only shows points in scoreboard during the match. No killstreaks so that this game gives you no benefit from camping. Yes, some people camp but as maps are huge, they dont get as much points. So they either change their playing style or move back to their mw2.

For me it's really sad that shooters are so much successful than the average game. It certainly has a bad influence in the whole gaming market.

I was thinking the same about the dlc pricing in mw2:) I bet they make next dlc just three maps for 15 bucks. Maybe this is too much but who would have believed that they make people pay 15 bucks for three plus two old maps? Especialy when we realise how much money they got from mw2 so far. Its ridiculous. And even with all this money they cant provide us with dedicated servers?

Where did the hype for this game even come from? Even in primetime ads it was being called the best thing since sliced bread.

I didn't buy it, but I've tried the solo and online aspect of the game and it couldn't be more generic. I can't understand why this game recieved good reviews. It's glitchy, generic, and gives the player no new experiences--those things usually lead to a game getting panned by critics.

Maybe it has something to do with the fact that they spent more money on promoting the game than on its actual development... Not like reviews and numbers on metacritic matter to me much, but look at critics' scores and then at users's scores. Then compare those to BC2. Thats says a lot.

Yes, ive enhoyed World At War more as well. Killstreaks there were sometimes too much but still it managed to keep a somewhat reasonable ballance. Plus dogs were great against campers :) And then of course, zombies. I have spent more time in zombies than in regular multiplayer in the end. Also, map pack for WaW was 10 bucks. You got three new maps and a zombie map. Those were actualy pretty good imo. Ive spent many, mant hours in Der Riese and Shi No Numa. And I didnt feel ripped off.

Agree with you bro :D

Rip-off....right from the start. Hating the glitches, the camping spots and the nube toobs! On a side note though, Iagree with the user above mewho said that Activision made the price (IW is not that bad in my books...yet). After all, where would they get the money for the upcoming trial they are going tohave with the IW heads? :P

Let's not forget Call of Duty is just a Medal of Honor clone anyway. But the Call of Duty series used to be very very good. Simplistic and linear, yeah, but attractive blockbuster entertainment.

Modern Warfare 2 is like Avatar, once the hype dies down, the truth is revealed.

IW didn't price the maps, Activision did. And let's don't forget Activision also fired the president and the CEO of IW. Activision could be forcing on IW to rush out MW2 without much testing. And didn't Activision CEO/President himself just got 10 billion dolloars out of MW2? I remember there's an article about how happy Activision's boss are. Anway, to me, IW is dead, 2 main people are gone, rest is corrupted Activision's minions. I don't really support Activision/Blizzard anymore now.

I can't help but support the blizzard side because Diablo II is just too amazing and Diablo III seems to be great aswell. If they ruin diablo III then I will no longer support them :P.

the cod franchise is like the 'madden of shooters. its thesame thing every year with a fresh coat of pollish and some (minor) new tweaks n perks. i mean what do you expect honestly? they crank these games out like dbl cheezburgers at mickey d'z.

i never supported them to begin with. the market is WAY too flooded with shooters as is. ill give my hard earned money to the developers with originality and actually care about there fan base.

mw2 had big sales, but the damage is done... the next cod game will not do so well. Activision has a theory that they can exploit franchises and release a new game every year (or even more ie guitar hero), they are going to run themselves into the ground. As a matter of fact, if it wasnt for blizzard I believe they would be in the red already.

So anyone who bought CoD4/MW2/Guitar Hero is a fool? Good to know:roll:

And to TC, if you don't like it, don't buy the game.

I will not buy any game produced by Activision or any map pack for COD. I regret falling into peer pressure and by MW2 which I never play. Beat the single player once and got to rank 30 then stopped. Been playing too many other games to care.

I supported them for CoD4 which was great. Then I got MW2 and it was such a let-down that I traded it in the first month I got it. But now I regret it.....I regret ever buying that game in the first place. I could have spent my money on something so much better, I lost all respect for IW and Activision, more Activision than IW for MW2. Despite the fact that MW2 just made half a billion in its first 5 days they still make over priced DLC. I know hate CoD, I used to love it. Battlefield FTW!

But if they never announced said DLC in the first place, than it would be all fine, am I right? People complain about charging for DLC and about how it's "part of the game" but if this DLC was never announced in the first place than everyone would be fine, I don't know why everyone feels like their entitled to every last piece of DLc for a game.

I don't like the way Activision does business, therefore I have never, and will never purchase any Activision game new. Instead I always wait until it's $20 used. That way Kotick and the other money hungry clods don't really get my money. And since I'm not a big online multiplayer guy, the map pack drama, etc just doesn't apply to me.

But the problem is that as long as people are willing to pay, they're going to keep doing it. I for one am saying no to overpriced map packs and glitchy online play. But how many of your other fellow gamers are? Far too few I'd saysince Activision is still doing what they're doing.

I am playing the gamea lot less now. My only real complaint is the price for the maps, I mean how can they charge such an outrageous price for 3 maps while 2 of them are old?

This company makes me sick. Its either Infinity Ward or Activision, or maybe both. They release MW2 no matter what state its in because they know its a gigantic cash cow. The internet gets flooded with all the glitches found inside this game, youtube will show you everything. But instead of getting hot on the ball and fixing the glitches....they don't do a thing. They just do enough to make the majority of the public happy, but they know you'll keep playing. Lets also not forget no dedicated servers, what does that mean for them? More money in their pockets, not many games still use P2P. Also now they come out with a map pack with 5 maps and 2 of them are recycled from the last MW. The cost, $15? WTF? Are you kidding me? 3 new maps and 2 recycled maps? Really? Lets also not forget the other system got a timed exclusive release. What do you think that means? They got a nice check for that kind of deal. Even if I owned the other system I would still think this company is trash. I refuse to buy anything from Infinity Ward again and I'll be watching real close to other Activision games that come out. Anyone else think the same?

StealthMonkey4

Well it wouldn't really be fine if they didnt announce the DLC. That just added on into the hate because IW taking out dedicated servers for PC gamers really took a huge blow to their company for PC gamers, before they were said to be great by PC gamers now they are hated by most. But I traded it in all because of the noobs, you know what I mean the campers and akimbo shot gunners, knifers etc. IW added way too much perks and way overpowered the weapons. Bad Company 2 has it just right at this time, it was a perfect opportunity for EA because their huge competitor just got a lot of hate for no dedicated servers. They just said "hey, Bad Company 2 has dedicated servers!" and they racked up the sales. If I were Activision I honestly would have made the DLC absolutely free to thank the people who made Modern Warfare 2 break a whole entertainment record! Not only is it the best selling game of all time right now but it made the most money in its first week than any movie made in a month. Yet they still charge for more, DLC is fine but I hate it when they release the game and on the same day release DLC that you have to pay for. Its meant for later to add replayability to the game. Not launch, in this case it was overpriced but DLC can be good or bad. Borderlands got DLC right and LBP got it right too.

[QUOTE="tommyas"]Cant agree more with your opinion. Im so glad i managed to sell mw2 for 40 bucks.johnpav88

So because someone likes to play MW2 there a sad bunch of people? i think your sad little guy for thinking that way. i on the other hand disagree with your opinion because thats all it is.I stillenjoy playingMW2 even with all the cheap kills like noob tubers, long distance shotguns, andkill/deathstreaks.I didnt like playing BFBC2 and you dont see me talking down to all the people that play that game.

I call them sad (my friends)because they WILL NOT try any other game. Every game to them is inferior to their precious MW2. They are so blind it sickens me. Ihave sold them some of my old games because a few of them have just aquired a PS3 so I thought I would help them out with more games. A few months later they have never touched any of those games that I sold them. And what sickens me is that there are thousands of people like this and game companies like Activision know this and will abuse this. They know no matter what they put out as long as it has that name at the front of it "Call of Duty" it will sell millions. The same can be said to games like Madden and NCAA, games that get churned out every year with few little changes and people WILL line up and pay that $60 for that game. Game companies know this and every year will cash in. Things will never change if everyone still buys their crap every year. Quality over quanity people!

You don't have to buy the game.

That is not the point. The point is more and more companies will get on board with this bullcrap and in the end the consumers (players)will get shafted because we will have no choice but to play POS games.

This will never happen. Have you never heard of competition. THe best games will generally sell better. I believe if players don't want a terrible game, then do your research and find out what other people think of the game. Or even go rent it for a couple bucks.
