I looked at vgchartz awhile ago and I see that COD4 has not even sold 4 million copies on the ps3. Which is really strange because I happen to think its one of the best games if not the best game. When there is around 18 million ps3 owners out in the world and only one out of every six owns the game is just weird.

Calling Call of Duty 4 the "best" anything is rediculous.

I played Call of Duty 1 on my PC, hated it, didn't pick up another one.

And thats why I don't have Call of Duty 4.

I sold mine last April. The online portion was a complete joke and not even 30% stable. I wasn't going to wait 9 months for something that should've been fixed a long time ago. IW dropped the ball.

I had it on 360. When I got it for PS3 the online issues were awful, so I sold it.

From what I've heard, COD4 PC is the only version to play. PC version is the grand buffet while PS3 and 360 got the bits and bones in the trash can.

Because FPSs aren't for everyone thats the reason why not all people have it. Plus VGcharts is a whole bunch of guesses sometimes they even count amount shipped as the amount sold which is far from truth. You can ship 4 millions units but it doesn't mean the game has sold 4 million units. Personally i thought the game was great for a while but there's only so much multiplayer i can take. The campaign was fun for what it lasted but it sure as heck isn't the best FPS. I sold mine back in june for MGS4. BTW your question is contradictory.

So you're judging COD4 based on COD1? Yea, that makes tons of sense.

I remember Denji on these boards talkin about PS3 online issues with COD4 (still sorry to hear that bro), but I've played it on both 360 and PS3 and it was the same to me, no online issues.
Why I loved it was because it offered silky smooth multiplayer (at least for me). When a guy was there and I shot him, it hit him, and with hardcore mode, people died as I expected them too. Just my opinion though.

There's a lot of people that own all 3 systems, and just because one system comes out before the other, doesn't necessarily change anybody's mind on which console they plan on getting. I don't personally own a PS3 yet but plan to after the holiday, when I dont need to cough up money for presents ;). I dont own CoD4 for 360 however, and I dont really enjoy it for 360, its much better for PC.

A non-issue in my opinion. I bought and played the game a lot. Personally, I like the campaign more than any other portion of the game. The online just didn't do it for me, I think it was the layout of the levels, because I have WaW and I love the online. COD4's campaign was great for a FPS and anyone who says otherwise isn't a fan of FPS's. This game had the best campaign for any FPS I've played.

COD4 is a spectacular game, now I do ponder on why I am explaining the obvious? This game is multiplatform and some of the primary reasons I believe is, they rather play the PC version or had moved on to another game.

COD4 and WAW are both a must have

what FPS can run as fast and smooth, it redefined all fps's basically until far cry came close and killzone is the next to redefine.

COD4 is straight up hard core from the music to the gameplay

CODWAW is more dark, with the Zazi Zomies, the soldeirs chanting, its semi more creepier.

Both are sick

I own COD4...bought it on a whim after so many friends said it was great. I found the single player campaign absolutely awesome, stunningly composed and scripted, like a well paced movie. I was thrilled. Then the fun was done after 10 to 15 hours, so I tried the multiplayer.....or should I say, tried to get multiplayer started. I couldn't even make it to the menu, it just kept trying to connect. I was extremely disappointed. LUCKILY, I also own Bad Company, whose single player campaign totally pales in comparison (not thrilling, not well paced, boring in parts, and the AI knows where you are before you even see them. Totally boring in the end); HOWEVER, the multiplayer is vintage Battlefield with zero problems connecting to servers and almost zero lag. Plus, you get vehicles and destructible environments. Bad Company, despite its poorer campaign, is the better game overall.

I used to think it was one of the greatest games I ever played. The online issues have made the gameplay deplorable though. By online issues I mean people quitting games midway through. It sucks

I have it for the PS3 I think it was the FPS of the year last year personally. Also I haven't experenced any lag on the MP at all

However I can understand how people dont like it as well, I mean after all everyone is completely different with the gaming.

also VGchartz are unrealible. sales on most of the games are wrong.
