How did Raiden become a cyborg ninja?

Dunno but i think they wanted to include every character from the series, at least it looks like he kicks ass now anyway:?

In the end of mgs2 it is revealed that he is being controlled by the patriots via nanomachenes. If you ask me it seems to be a reasonable conclusion that while trying to regain his freedom and remove the nanomachenes that control him from his body he has lost a few limbs. In the newer 2 trailers you can see his blood has been replaced with a white artificial substitue.

He started Hanging around the wrong crowd getting into trouble. Then one night he was peer pressured into drinking at a frat party Otacon was throwing. He drove home only to crash into a mail box. He will never be the same.mugwuffin2

well remember there was a cyborg ninja in mgs2??? his name was something dirty i cant remember it. anyway i think the ninja turned out to be olga or whoever that woman was. then at the end raiden got a ninja sword...so maybe he got some sword lessons and ended up learning the ways of the cyborg ninjad_ano

Its been confirmed long ago that all that is left of raiden is his head and his spine. The rest is cybernetic like grey fox. His new limbs will just be faster, more responsive and stronger than his old ones. And yea he got olgas sword, so i guess thats how he became the ninja

I've done a lot of thinking on this myself and came to the conclusion that Raiden has always been a cyborg, for at least the time we knew him. I know it sounds crazy right now but before you go on to the next post please read this.

I just went back and played MGS2 a couple of days ago. I didn't catch it immediately but Vamp lets you know that Raiden is different than a normal human. This happens in the cutscene of the first boss fight with Vamp. After Vamp dodges a couple of shots from Raiden and gets nicked on the face, he notices that he's not normal. quote,

"I thought so. Human muscels are quite eloquent. They speak out clearly what a person's next move will be. They even tell me which way a gun is going to be pointed before the trigger is pulled. But you're muscles, they're different. This should be fun." Vamp MGS2.

Okay, Vamp knows for a fact that he can read human muscles with no problem. He's been using this ability to dodge and kill people left and right. Raiden sure looks human, he acts human, but for some reason Vamp can't read his muscle movements like he can a normal human's. Why?, well Raiden doesn't have human muscles, he has cyborg muscles.

Now here is where I believe Raiden became a cyborg. I caught this after Olga knocked Raiden out and he wakes up in front of Ocelot and Solidus on the torture table. Solidus, the antagonist of MGS2, raised Raiden in Africa. Solidus talks about their past together and tells Raiden he was the best child soldier in his battalion. After the war was over Solidus told Raiden that he went searching for him in refugee camps but couldn't find him. Solidus later said, "I should have know that they would recruit you". When Solidus said "they" I'm pretty sure he was talking about the patriots. Because Raiden was so close to Solidus, the patriots kidnapped him and got as much infromation as they could. I imagine things like Solidu's activites and bases of operations. Since Raiden was such an excellent solider the patriots may have wanted to expand on his abilities. They may have done experiments which eventually lead to Raiden becoming a full cyborg save his head and spinal cord.

I imagine Kojima is going to shed more light on Raiden's story in later installements. I for one hope so, because you can't have something that big and not explain.

having downloaded the mgs4 database and read the facts about raiden, it states there that raiden was sent on a mission to retrieve big boss's body or if not to rescue sunny and was caught by the patriots, as a result raiden was experimented on by the Patriots with nanomachines and was made a cyborg just like gray fox, the cyborg ninja, he was coincidentally rescued by the Paradise Lost Army led by big mama and have worked on maybe retrieving bigboss's body or sunny, leading to the meeting of raiden and old snake in mgs4,well as far as i remembered though

yeh hes sent by the patriots to retrieve big boss's body in exchange for sunny's location then something happens and some person named dr. madnar does experiments on him in area 51 and saves his life by turning him into a cyborg **super spoilers** in raidens ending he is put back together with parts im assuming aren't his because of the barcodes and he has scars separating segments of his body ex.hands ,arms ,shoulder ,chest and so oniloverock4ever

Anyway, all of Raiden's body is cyborg.

The only things that remain from his original body are his spine and his mind.

The deal to release Sunny from The Patriots was to take Raiden's body in return. That's what he did. They exchanged Sunny and handed her to Snake and Otacon(way of deliverance not explained) and in return got Raiden. I believe the mission was at the Area 51, where the exchange occured. They had to do some experiments on him thus leading to Cyborg form.
