How disappointing is Dead Island!!

hey guys, since that trailer was posted to the world in feb, this game has become one of this years must, gameplay videos impressed, and i thought this is going to be the game for me.

So i now own it, and playing it has disappointed me, i mean the graphics are good dont get me wrong along with the sound, but the feel of the game isnt happening for me, the combat is already repetitive, the missions are boring, the characters are a disappointment, the whole feel of the game is so arcadey,
its just i dont know, seems more tongue and cheek, then scary.

From what I have seen of Dead Island it looks to me like it is turning out to be exactly like what Dead Rising was. Hyped up to be this awesome open world Survival Horror and turning out to be nothing but a tounge and cheek gore fest that becomes boring after like 2 hours. This is why I didn't jump on Dead Island even after the awesome trailer it had, looks like another game that has had loads of hype but fallen flat on its face.

Dead Island is AWESOME. It's turning out to be hell of a lot of fun. It's got a decent crafting system TONS of missions and a pretty good melee system. I don't know what people were expecting, but it's a friggin zombie game. Your expectations should fit accordingly.

I'm undecided right now. It looks fun and I never played L4D, but I'm not sure I like the gameplay.

One of the most enjoyable games I've played in years.

just wait for some time u will start getting awesome weapens soon in later chapters.

It's more like Borderlands for me. Only fun when playing co-op. I'm not treating this as a survival horror.

Absolutely love this game, my buddies and I play it together online every night and the entertainment just never stops.

Have you tried playing Co-op?? I haven't gotten it yet but I would imagine that this game is best played with friends.

I've been playing it for a few days and enjoying it. The missions aren't really the greatest, it's just fighting your way through some zombies and then doing whatever it is you're supposed to do. But levelling up your skills and your weapons adds a bit of interest to it. I was hoping for a bit more atmosphere, but it's okay.

I dunno, it's not the greatest game in the world, but what game is.

I absolutely love this game, it is far FAR better than Dead Rising could have every hoped to have been. The graphics are great when you really crank up the settings and remove the bloom filters. The combat is some of the most entertaining I have seen in a while, especially when you have a few friends to smash it up with you. Great game, and I don't regret buying this for $34 at all!

Although I do love this game, it has a bunch of glitches. I have probably played around7 hours worth of the game without it saving. But it's fun enough that I didn't mind replaying it.

It seems to be okay. I might pick it up in the future.

I rented the game the other night. I was having a LOT of fun....until the next morning when I found out practically none of my 6 hour playing session was saved. I went from level 12 back to level 2. So, I quit and returned the game! I might get it for PC when it's $5 and all the bugs have been fixed by the community.

different opinions for this game. Some are like me who hate the random auto saving and the level matching the enemies have with you. It's almost like you will never get better. Because the enemies will be just as strong. I think ultimatly this game is meant to be a multiplayer. And not solo. But they felt the need to have solo with it.

A lot of people said the same thing about borderlands too. Don't get me wrong, Borderlands has great multiplayer but I enjoyed single player just as much. Same case here, for me. I just wish they'd get the stupid saving feature fixed.
