How would you go about cleaning a ps3 disc, do you wipe across or in a circle? Also what solution would you use water ect?

From the middle outwards, gently.
Use a lintless cloth or the one included with a PSP that's used for cleaning the surface of the console.
Not a widely known fact, but all Blu Ray disks come with a scratch resistant coating on them since the data lies much closer to the surface of the disk. That coating is also said to help with cleaning and a soft cloth with a bit of water on it should do the trick just fine.
I think that it's I suppose it's the same as with CDs or DVDs, if you wipe in a circle you totally kill them, also I think you can buy some kind of layer to protect them but I'm not sure how that affects the disc readerFrom the middle outwards, gently.

I've read from a DVD box that you should not wipe in a circle, but DVD may not apply to Blu-Ray, so I'm not 100% sure.

I have a wipe a disc in a circle without knowing that you can't. Maybe thats why my gta4 won't work anymore. So it does kill the disc if wipe in a circle?
Like someone already said they don't scratch easily at all. Any cloth will do. Next time you have a chance compare the Blu ray disc to a regular dvd and you will see that it has a thick clear coating on it.

No, it shouldn't. That really only applies to CDs and DVDs because Blu Rays are scratch resistant so long as you don't try and massage the pavement with it.
Lick it.

I've done something similiar ever since I first got my PS1. I spit on the disk and then wipe it with my shirt. :P
I always wondered why no one ever wanted to borrow a game from me...
With a knife, it's scratch proof so use the sharpest one possible to get that grime off. If it doesn't work afterwards then your disc is defective and you should take it to the store you got it from and demand a refund. If they look at the disc and say it's been scratched call them an idiot, as the disc is scratch proof.
