the point is you can have 30 something gigs of media accessible on your psp. You can also watch and listen to what ever you want, wehre eve ryou want, as long as your PSP can access a wireless internet. In other words, you can go to starbucks, or maybe a hastings, or a mall, and watch you videos from your PS3 on you PSP.wolfblademusic
can you only stream from the PSP or can you upload files to the psp from anywhare? for example can i go to McDonald's, upload a new movie and watch it in the car in the way back?
Last Night:
Woke up at 3 in the morning rolled over and switched on my PSP opened up remote play to access my PS3 that I had left on in the living roomto download a huge amount of stuff. Checked my downloads andinstalled a couple of the demos, then accessed the store and queued up a few more videos. Watched one of my completed videos switched off and fell back to sleep.
Remote play rocks!!!!
My only complaint about it would be that Sony made a huge fuss over the PS3 being network aware so when you shut it down (stand by mode) it still knew it was connected to the internet. Therefore I was expecting I could access the PS3 even after I turned it off which would be so cool. But no, you have to have it on remote play to use it which is a bit annoying. For instance I will be taking my PSP on holiday with my soon what if something really sweet came out on the PSstore? If the PS3 was truly network aware then I could access it from literally the other side of the world to download it then shut it down. Now that would be so cool that people all across the people would simultaneously cream their pants.
I don't. Remote connect only works within 10 feet of the PS3. What good is the feature if I can't browse my content while dropping a deuce?donalbane
you can now connect from the internet so you can be anywhere in the world where there is Wifi an still connect to your PS3. FW 1.80 allows you to do that. Your talking about the old FW.
The only problem I have is that you have to have your PS3 on all the time to use remote play. I wish Sony puts in a future update a feature where you can turn off and on your PS3 from your PSP. I will be going on a trip soon and I want to access my PS3 but I dont want it on for a week and a half.
Im still waiting for something cool to come out in an update, remote play sucks if you dont have wireless.vegetattack15
Wireless isn't expensive. You can get a router for 20-30 dollars. Of course Remote Play isn't as good if you don't have wireless... it's not supposed to be. If you can't pay for wireless... then you obviously have no need for a lot of the PS3 features that cover wireless such as data streaming, remote play, and multi internet functionality.
