how do USB keyboards work to...

i heard of people using a USB keyboard in stead of the controller to send messages faster but how would that work. is there a way to sync it to the ps3 or do they just automatically work? i know that there are PS3 specified keypads but for 54.99, really?

USB Keyboard + PS3 USB Port = Works! :P

It just works. I'm not sure if certain ones work or if all usb keyboards work but I was pleasantly suprised when I plugged in my wireless keyboard and mouse and it worked automatically.

ps3's have usb ports. usb keyboards have usb cables. usb port + usb cable = USB Baby!!! wait no...thats not right. usb port + usb cable = WORKS!!!

^this. i use a 10 dollar keyboard that iv had for years.

I have one and it works a lot better than a controller. You can find them pretty cheap and just about any one should work.
