I think the problems are from the main server because with every thing people have tried it seems that when they get into the server at the rite time the update works flawlessly for some strange reason. It happened to me when the update first came out and after a few tries it got past the 4% mark and went through with out a problem after that. The PSP was having the same problem in the begining.

ummm... well i think there's nothing more i can try then, ill give it a few hours and then try again (sigh)..
I just tried it over and over and over. Literally, as soon as it failed I tried again. I was just sitting at my computer in the mean time so wasnt that big of a hassle. Eventually, probably after 30 or so tries, it worked.
Why does sony come out with so many updates. I appreciate the updates but cant you at lease do one major update once in awhile, instead of doing one minor update every week.
on the 4% i got "An error has ocurred during the download operation, a conection with the server could not be established (80028E07)"

I did this an it worked:
Turn your PS3 COMPLETELY OFF (that means from the back too. Turn off the router and the modem (if you have WIFI. If not disconnect the cable too). Once you do that, reconnect the router and modem, the turn the PS3 back on.
Connect to the server again and try it. It worked like a charm with me. If not, type "PS3 1.93 download" on google, you will see many forums with troubleshooting)
