how do you know when your controller is 100% charged?

just got a ps3. plugged usb cable in and charing comtroller and red light is on top of controller, and played for coupled hours and was still red.

Does the light stay red even when fully charged? or turn green?

and how long does it take for it to fully charge? and how would i know?

Before you charge it turn it off and plug it in. It will keep flashing until it is fully charged. Make sure you wait until the controller is fully dead before you charge it, it is so much better for the batteries!

I'm glad someone finally asked this....i have been wondering this myself for quiet sometime but never asked...dunno why i never asked and i never knew about pressing the ps button and it would show the battery strength....thanks

if you do not turn on the controller (or you have it in power saving mode) and charge it fully, the red lights (indicating which channel / controller #) will stop blinking eventually... oh, and btw the ps3 does not charge controllers when it is off... :)

This is not true. Read up on Li-ion batteries. If we did it your way, the batteries in our controllers would be screwed pretty fast.
