Right off the bat, I'm not sure if this has to do with the PS Network, but recently I did a backup and restoring of my data from an old harddrive to a new one, and it said that I can transfer the memory but would not be able to transfer the trophies... there was a way I was able to sync back the trophies but I forgot how. I'm playing through Batman:Arkham Asylum and I'd like to get my trophies back because when it comes times to gain a trophy it always puts up a default message and says "you did not earn a trophy." Do i have to wait until the PSN is back in order to sync my trophies or to gain new ones?

You'll only be able to sync your trophies once PSN is back online. And I'm assuming the reason you cannot acquire new trophies is because you haven't had the chance to activate your old PSN account *EDIT: before PSN went down, that is.

Yes, when you sync you're trophies all your previous trophies and the new ones you have earned will be there. It says you did not earn a trophy because you copied/transferred the save data. Correct me if I'm wrong please.

I'm no expert, but I'm guessing that changing your HDD is pretty much equivalent to getting a new PS3. That means that, as part of completing the overall transfer process, he has to re-sign into PSN in order to sync his account with the new HDD and, subsequently, for his trophy list to show up. But since he can't sign in, he can't acquire any trophies.

EDIT: Now I hope someone corrects ME if I'm wrong :P

Also, some games prevent you from earning trophies on copied saves, I guess to prevent cheating into trophies.

Yea it sucks, because I mean, I can finish off the game without earning anymore trophies, and trophies were never a definite must for me (I'm not much of an online/community PS person, I just game), but it's still cool to see what you earn and not have to deal with those annoying messages. I want to keep playing and don't want to wait for the PSN to get back online, I just hope I don't run into trouble if I have to redo everything and the things tells me that I can't redeem them back for some reason (which I'm about 99% sure will happen, as that is just my life's luck). :(

I'm fairly certain that that's exactly what is going to happen. But your "luck" has absolutely nothing to with it, as you insist on playing the aforementioned game even though you're fully aware that it's highly unlikely (or even, impossible) that your trophies will be saved.
