How do you spend?

Just trying to get an idea of what kind of gamers you guys are.

I used to be sporadic with my spending - pay full price here, buy used there, but with the new generation, all the games I've bought were at full price.

Ironic considering how the prices have gone up instead of down.

I order all my games online. A website called shopto.net (uk) has excellent offers. I bought the limited edition of KZ2 for £32 and I recently picked up the inFamous Special Edition for £40. Usually save money here and there which is fine by me!

But, if I buy used game, I'll buy them from a retailer and check the condition of the game first. I made the mistake of picking up Dead Rising for my 360 second hand and left without the checking the disk. I looked at it and it was more scratches than disk itself!

My anticipated games, I buy new day 1, ex. inFamous. Games I want to play, but don't care about it too much, I'll wait for a price reduction, ex. Sacred 2.

I never bought used games before because I couldn't rely on them working 100%. With playstation 3 games though, I know I'm getting a good game even if its been used before. The only difference is maybe missing the booklet and the cost.

I've always bought games used and at full price. Depends what i happen to see when im at a store.

whe i used to buy games it was if i had that much then it was getting bought....now its if i have that amout i have to make achoice whther i should get it now or wait or get something else

If it's a game I really want then I'll pay full price for it. I can usually wait for games to drop in price though, whether it be on sale or a permanent price. I do like to buy a lot of retro games though (mainly PS2) so I get those for cheap.

I didn't buy many games at a full price of $50 because last gen it was only really the mainstream games that costed full price. Jak games, Team Ico games, Insomniac games, Nippon Ichi games, and Burnout games all were budget titles that started at $40 or less. Unfortunately almost every new game for the PS3 cost $60 except for Warhawk, Socom, and Disgaea 3. Whats worse is that it takes some games forever to go down in price. So this gen I just fork over the $60 for any good game I want and thats that.

I tend to just go from game to game. As soon as I'm "finished" with a game, I'm usually awaiting another oen to be released. I've been anticipating InFamous since I "finished" RE5 in March. I've been extremely bored with game lately. I'm usually a first day buyer. Back on PS2 I wasn't that big on video games so I would just go out and buy random games that I didn't really know much about.

No option for combinations of both? I had to pick the banana answer because of that....

I wait till the prices go down...way down. There are only a couple of games that I have actually paid full price on the PS3.

I buy from half.com. brand new factory sealed games usually dont exceed $45 USD (for $60 titles)

Some games I will pre order from the stores if the "bonus" is good or I really want the game. (inFAMOUS)

I always pay full price. But the store I buy games from gives a small discount if I pay in cash.

Well in the US people have to save every dime they can....

I like bananas, and I have yet to pay over $40 for a game, usually I buy for 30 or less.

i used to wait til price drops for most games but since it takes sooo long for prices to drop on good games (believe me i've tried to wait) i buy once i see a good size discount or pay full price.

I ALWAYS buy new/sealed games. NEVER do I buy used games. :) Ever. But that's probably because I'm a perfectionist, and I would hate owning something that I knew someone else already touched and owned. Not just games, but pretty much everything in life I buy new lol. RotaryRX7

I pay full price when theres a game I'm really psyched for.(wow just realised I've been spelling psyched wrong....)Other then that though I wait a couple weeks and buy it used saves a few bucks and its PS3 they don't get scratched so no worries. Also nice little loop with gamestop. Buy a game used beat it within 7 days and return it for full refund. If you don't beat it return it go to the next store and buy it again. free games woooo.

I only pay games full price that REALLY intrest me. Some that don't I wait for bargin. Games like inFamous I will pay extra for a Special Edition.

I never buy used games. I have had enough experience with broken ones from the PS2. Also I just like it knowing that my game is brand new, and worth the extra money for perfect condition.
