You really love your PS3 , don't ya ? =\ Anyways , I just keep it away from dust . When I don't use it , I wrap it up in a thin cloth to prevent dust from accumulating near the vents . And I vacuum dust out of it with a low power vacuum cleaner occasionally .

thats not a good idea. you can end up causing damnge by doing that. thermal paste is not meant to be changed every month.

the failure has nothing to do with dusting , my 40Gb is covered with dust all over it cause i dont have time to take care of that and runs fine two years already

The 40GB hard drive is only just starting to fail. But its still running fine most of the time.

Every week I go over the vents with a hand vac and polish up the exterior with eyeglass lens cleaner and a soft cotton T-shirt.

And the PS3 counsels your brother's 360 on how to work long-time without failing.

Every 5-7 minutes I rub it down with a nice scented massage oil, and every first tuesday of the month I take it completely apart and dip all the pieces into alcohol:roll:...........but really I wait until it is dusty then I take a soft shirt and wipe it off

I keep it in a well ventilated area and dust it every once in a while. Everything else was up to Sony when they designed and manufactured it.

I tell it stories, rub its tummy and keep it from playing terrible games. Oh, and I try to keep it in an open space for it to breathe, as you see the PS3 is claustrophobic andwill have an asthma attack if it's confined in small areas.

On every Monday Wednesday and Friday I set some time apart for me and Gloria ( my ps3 ) in which I carefully rub her down with a diaper followed by a nice soft vacuming then I top it off with her favorite a nice back rub, she loves it.

All my systems are well ventilated and I try to dust my systems and shelf when I really notice the dust and I cover my HD consoles with a pillow case when it's not in use.

usually i have to hit it a few time with a hammer to get to work and once in a while when the game freezes on me, i would take a torch and unfreeze it.

Yea....you really don't need to be replacing your thermal compound every month. Artic Silver will last you a good 3 years + if you applied it correctly. If anything you risk screwing something up sooner or later on your PS3 taking it apart and putting it back together so often....but it's your investment.

Personally, I just replaced the thermal paste on my launch 60GB a few months ago, I always keep it well ventilated, blow the dust out with compressed air every so often, only play for 1-2 hours at a time, and never play during the summer when/if my room gets too hot.

60GB is still going strong.

i just dust it off everytime before i play my ps3. my ps3 still in good condition until now. bought it on july 2008. i'm studying in university now, so when i'm not home, i just wrap it with clothes to prevent dusts.
