How do you Unlock Gouken?!?!

this is getting rediculous, ive done everything, from what online says to what the strategy guide says

it seems like every website is different when it comes to unlockin him.

so far i have beat the game with akuma once the normal way nothign special, then the second time i beat it i did 3 ultra finishes and 2 perfects, and to no avail gouken didnt pop up.

so after that i used Ryu because a few online sights say to use him after you beat the game with Akuma, and i did the same thing 3 ultras and 2 Perfects.

AND GUESS WHAT HAPPEND, Akuma challenged me again, not gouken,

THe strategy guide is the worse though cause it just says beat arcade mode with akuma to get gouken but that is way wrong

Also the guy that made a thread about unlocking all characters was also wrong when it comes to getting Gouken.

SO WHAT IS THE RIGHT WAY?!?! im so confused

Euh.... Re-read what i wrote... I said you HAVE to use Akuma, do 2 perfects, 3 ultra combos finishes , get to seth and kill him without losing or continues.

Um no, that's wrong. I unlocked Gouken with Ken. You have to beat the game with Akuma first before you face/unlock Gouken. I faced Gouken before beating the game with Akuma and I didn't unlock him. After I beat the game with Akuma, I tried it again with Ken and beat him. Then he was unlocked. I think the requirements go by the intros and endings. So beat the game with Akuma first, then choose the character best suited to you to unlock Gouken.

2 Perfects, 3 Ultra Finishes. Winning with a Super Combo doesn't count towards this so if you're in any trouble, feel free to use it as it doesn't effect this.

After unlocking Akuma, you have to beat the game with him once. Just complete it with him. After that, pick any character you've already beat the game with (I chose Ryu). Then it should be 2 perfects and at least 3 Ultra finishes without continuing. I used 3 rounds to give myself more of an opportunity to get the Ultras. That should work, and it's the method I used. You don't even need 2 perfects. I used akuma and had 1 perfect, 3 ultra finishes and got Gouken to appear. I also had an ultra combo that didnt finish the round, but no idea if that affected anything. I just used single rounds with easiest setting.

The try before I got Gouken I had the requisite 2 perfects, 3 ultras and he did not appear. So I am not sure what the exact formula for him is.

I think it absolutely stupid to have character that hard to unlock...

Unlocking characters should be a casual thing, i mean i got a wife i got a job and a life... i have like 2 days a week to play a game... how am i suppose to unlock thos guys?? this is very frustrating...

They really didnt give it to casual players in this street fighter...

Practice. Street Fighter requires you to learn. So use the training mode. In arcade mode, put it on easiest. This isn't Tekken or Soul Calibur where you can just do a special move just by pressing Foward + Punch.

Or better yet, try looking for a SF4 save file with all of the characters unlocked.

finish one match not round with a perfect. So if set to best of three that would mean u have to get two perfect rounds in a row if set to best of one you onle need one to finish the match! finish 3 matches not rounds with ultra finishes! so in other words set your matches to best of one. get one perfect match. Then finish the 3 with ultras. Oh and dont die. if you die you have to start over. My problem was that i kept finishing 1 round with a perfect and 3 rounds with ultras when i should have been getting 2 rounds with a perfect to complete the match and a total of 6 rounds with ultras to complete the 3 match requirement.smallfry506

I can tell you that this guy's method definitely works, I tried doing it with just 2 perfects and three ultras total, didn't work, then I switched it over to one round and did the same thing and it got him to appear.
