If used properly it's not so bad.  Crackdown has Dodge Nitro and Dell ads but it's done in such a way that it's not intrusive.  There actually on billboards thoughout the city.

I would like it. The game would feel a little more like real life. For example in MLB 2k7 there's logos of progressive car insurance and stuff.

I don't mind it as long as the advertisment is not "In Your Face" type. :P

I wouldn't mind if the games were free or less expensive. But that's not going to happen.
NFS: Carbon for PS3 isn't any cheaper than F1 or Motorstorm and definetly isn't any better of a game for it.
Let's face it, it's not helping gamers or improving the experience it's just making a few suits a bit more money.

It's keeping games from becoming more expensive. That was the whole point of in-game advertising in the first place, not to make games free or cheaper.

Yeah yeah, tell me another developer sob story.  Games look better than ever, but you know what they have gotten substantially shorter and easier at the same time too.  Look at Gears of War 7-9hrs to finish the single player game. Look at Lair they are bragging about 12hrs of gameplay, Motorstorm 8 tracks all the same textures.
You tell me that $60 is not enough for these games??
I'm personally spending more on gaming now than I ever did.

If they don't abuse it, and use it to subside part of the game's price or even better finance extra content development and updates, I'm all for it.

10-15 hours is average for ANY non-RPG single-player game, ever since the N64/PS1 days. If they got easier, that's a result of the market growing in the last ten years to encompass more casuals, because game difficulty has nothing to do with dev time.

It also might keep the price down for us since the developers are making money by putting those ads into the games, and that's a good thing, as long as that don't over do it.

I agree. As long as the ads fit the subject manner without being too intrusive, I am good. I wouldnt want to see an Army advertisement in Jak and Daxter, nor do I want oversized (and I mean oversized) billboards advertising Axe in Rainbow 6. Its a sensitive ballance.

I'm fine with in-game advertising, but EA seems to over use it. FNR 3 and NFS Most Wanted are prime examples.

BF2142 ads didn't make the game any cheaper. All PC games start at that price. Supreme Commander I just bought $49.99, Company of Heroes $49.99 and no ads. Ads do nothing to make prices cheaper. I bought NFS: Carbon for PS3 guess what $59.99 no difference in price and full of ads. There is not one single game as evidence that the developer is going to make the game any better or any cheaper just because it has advertisements in it. It's just a nice spin the industry put's on it to make it acceptable.

@SuperSix - I hope I followed your post correctly.  I'm not trying to flame you just using your BF2142 example as an illustration -EmperorSupreme

I'm just wondering why game prices keep rising with the increase of in-game advertising.
