FF7 hasn't aged very well, But both games have an option "Smoothing" which you can turn on and off...I'm not sure if it makes a huge difference but don't miss out on two great games because of the graphics.

Smoothing makes a big difference.I'd say they look ok. If you're used to HD graphics then you might get a bitter taste at first.:P

I agree with this. VII is kind of pixelated and you can tell the game was made in the 90's. I think it looks great personally because I was gaming when the game came out originally and remember how good it looked back in the day.

I played them before on the PS1/PS2. Just not in an HDTV/PS3 setup. Just afraid my eye sight will degrade if I play them in that setup.

it looks kind of pixelated but no so much that you'd want to stop playing it also i'm not sure if anyone else has the same problem but when you play the game it doesn't fit the whole screen its like a black frame appears around it.

but apart from that it looks great and please don't let anything put you off from buying it as its still a great experience

I'd just be honest and tell you that it looks awful but the gameplay is awesome though. That's the truth plain and simple.

They look pretty darn hideous, to be honest. I've been playing them on my PSP, where I can keep the games at their native resolution without the chunkiness that scaling brings in. They actually look quite good on a PSP screen, in contrast.

Both actually looked good as you can play them in upscaled resolution but that doesn't help the graphics one bit. FF8 looks great for a PS1 game but FF7 just.............. I've been playing through for the first time and it really has aged well at all. So yea, for a PS1 game it looks like a PS1 game. As a person who doesn't have any nostalgia for either game, it sort of bugs me the way the characters look given the serious nature of the storyline which is probably the best part of the entire game. But, you can't really complain for $10, I have almost 40 hours in it and I'm only on disc 2.

They both look about the same as they did on the PS1 in SD anyway. Playing them on a HDtv without any good SD scaling features makes it look all pixelated but that doesn't matter with FF7 much. It was never that great graphically to begin with.
