i usually sit about 1 metre and a half away... cause i need to concentrate on the game. for example in warhawk i can barely see the map, in pes08 i need to check the radar. i know its bad for my eyes so can anyone help me?
Usually I start off about 4 or 5 feet away, but oddly find myself scooting closer and closer to the tv when playing some games. I don't know why. Also wonder why I tilt to the side in my chair during corners in racing games or why I kick my leg up while Mario makes certain jumps. :?
i think it depends a little on how big tv you have...
I have a 32" wide and i'm sitting about 2 meters away from it. This is the distance that I have had as long as i remember playing video games. No problem for me.
Right in front of the thing like 2 feet away (no longer than the charging cords that came with it). I like being close. the only bad thing is that all the noise picks up on my headset.
While playing Warhawk (or while charging controller) 1 metre
While playing FFXII and looking at guide 3.5 m from tv 0.5 m from monitor
While doing anything else, like playing FFXII w/o the guide 2-2.5 m on my couch
EDIT: and nearly 8 years solid gaming has led to my extreme short sightedness, meaning while sitting 0.5m away from my monitor, I cant read anything below size 18 on it, if im lucky
I have a 61" Panasonic LCD, and I sit roughly 10 feet away. But sometimes when I'm on the computer I'm about an inch or two away .. thats when my eyes begin to water .. gonna need glasses soon probably..haha
i have completely ruined my life by playing video games soo often... now i have to wear glasses for the rest of my life!!! unless... they make a laser eye surgery that doesnt have any negative side-effects!

I would show you a picture of how thick i need my glasses but the camera on my phone isnt good enough to show the concave and I'm too lazy to go find a proper camera :P
but like trust me, get out of the sit so close your eyes bleed habit before its too late
