What was the longest consecutive hours you've played your PS3? I wanted to know because I'm paranoid that I might overheat or break my PS3 for being on too long, so I try to limit it to 2 hours at a time then let it rest for awhile.
Guy's I'm sure I'm in the wrong spot for this topic but Ive rented a few sports games made by 2ksports(NHL 2k7) and mlb 07the show... and i was very disappointed with the graphics... alot ofmy ps2 games were far superior!!! totally not impressed
ive pushed my ps3 for 6 months all most 7 months now NON STOP never shut it off on folding@home yes 6 months non stop running its been on still is on and will stay on for another 5 months then ill give it a break my ps3 will run for 1 entire year ill tell ya if it breaks but i doubt it

I let my Mom use my ps3 towatch dvds for 6 hrs. In that time, I was more worried about it than me playing it for 24hrs.

this the wrong topic for that for one, and for two those are two games on the PS3 and don't even represent a fraction of what the system is capable of.
Well I Marathoned God of War 2 through the whole game in one sitting - about 9 - 11 hrs (can't remember as it was the weekend the game launched) I also frequently leave it on for 24 hrs while I download all the psn updates (takes soOo long for me lol) i download them before i go to bed, get up , go to work, come home and play.

2 hours at a time! don't do that! don't take chances like that!
I left mine on for about 3 days straight Folding@Home. I've actually done that several different times. Don't worry about it overheating and just enjoy it. Besides, if something does happen (though it won't) thats what Sony's warranty is for.
man i played 3 days straight none stop, my eyes almost fell out of their sockets lol, but yea 3 days straight, resistance, then ninja gaiden last day, to beat it, wow wat a rush, had best time in those 3 days, besides the fact that my girls polish and loves video games, she joined me as well, cuz he system, cant mention it id get a TOC lol lets say it has 3 red rings of death, that was her system and died so shes over my hosue playin ps3 almost every chance she gets after work lol

i have played oblivion for like 7 hours. And my friend has left his on Folding@Home for over 2 weeks while on vacation. It works just fine. Sony knows how to make a console. No 1.89 Billion dollars lost here because of malfunctions
I've often done 12 hours strait. Playing games for a few hours and fold for the rest. I hate how sometimes the fans kick into high gear if you leave it folding for a long time. It's annoying because if you stop folding and play a game or movie. It quiets down a great deal... (And also the unusually loud fan noise worries me) I think sony did it on purpose as to make 100% it wouldn't overheat from extended periods of folding.
Its a reliable system and dont worry about alot, but the furthest ive pushed it would be 12 hours. Some buds of mine came over and played and stuff from like 12 PM to 12ish AM.
Got warm, but not HOT...played Rainbow Six like crazy...

I was busy once in the middle of a game and I left it on for 2 days because I forgot all about it. Still works fine. :)
it was running for 2 days continuously when i bought it first.whenever i thought of giving it some rest someone comes asking me to show it and when i was asleep i put it for download. after two days i gave it rest. but of course it was hot but nothing happened.its a mean machine.

I'm always afraid of that too :P The longest Ive played is probably 2 hours. 3 At the most.

I think I had mine on for a couple of hours watching a bluray movie. then I moved the PS3 to my room and had it on for a good 5 to 6 hours while running Folding@Home
The only time I play longer than 1 hour is when I'm playing a PS2 game. Usually it's 2-3 hours then. Otherwise there's very little to do on it, so I don't have to worry about overheating yet :P
