Well, I might be getting a PS3 tomorrow, but I dont have a HDTV, I have a very old (over 1 decade old) Panasonic CRT t.v. This t.v was great back then, but not so much now. So I was wondering if the PS3 will still look good on my not so great t.v?

I asked this too. People said it looks pretty good, but if you already played on an hd then you are going to have "eye sores". As long as you are starting on an sd, it will look as good as 360's High def.

I had an HDTV(1080p to boot) before I had my ps3, and honestly, when I go to my friends house to play on their standard TVs, I don't know how they do it

Even my friends with 360s, they can't even brag if a game has better graphics, because uh, it doesnt matter on their TV

HD is just the thing of the future, and right now really, but eventually everyone will/should have HD TVs

TVs are tricky, because you always want to have the best/newest one, but they are always coming out with better newer ones, so no matter what yours is outdated. Lesser HDTVs are really cheap right now because 1080p is top of the line, but I think if you were to buy a 1080p you would be safe for a while, since hardly anything can even broadcast at 1080p,, but there isn't and overwhelming difference if you decide to go with a lesser model. Brand also make a difference

You should make the choice on what TV is good for you, but it should at least be some sort of HDTV

If you are not used to HD (like me) it will look really good, but if you are used to HD, then it might not look as good, but still much better then last gen, It certainly won't look bad.

r u kidding me???i rented a 360 when i first got my hdtv. then took it back. and i then bought a ps3 and the first weekend i had my ps3 i had to use none hd cables and i couldnt stand the ps3`s graphics without the hd wires. no way the ps3 graphics on a sdtv are even close to the 360`s graphics on a hdtv. that works both ways tho. 360s on sdtv aint close to ps3`s on a hdtv

OK im sorry mate but your wrongabout saying that hardly anything can broadcast at 1080p right now cuz uh... my freaking projector that has a fricking huge screen that i watch TV with on my wall goes PAST 1080p and it really doesnt matter about whether you have an HDTV or not because games are about having fun playing the game not about the graphics. also all your doing by getting an HDTV is trying to keep up with the "in thing" which you will find will constantly outrun you

It's really not that bad, I spend a quite some time before I was able to save up for HDTV. The games look fine, of course they will look better on HD, because the system takes advantage of highest image quality.

Until you can afford a good HDTV, it will be fine. I had no issues with it.

You watch TV with a 1080p projector, guess what, cable, or satellite broadcast in 1080i, your projectors capabiliity is 1080p, that doesnt mean your watching TV in 1080p

Not as good as they would look if you did have an HDTV, that's for sure. But even on an SDTV, the graphics are a big leap over PS2 games. But you really need Hi-Def to get that Holy **** factor going with the PS3.
