To me, the actual gameplay wasn't bad, but the story wasn't that great, and aside from duel weilding plasmids/weapons, nothing felt different than the first one.

I think it's a better game than the original, but a worse experience. You lose some of the magic of the setting the second time around, and while the story is pretty good it doesn't have any major moments like the first one did. Gameplay is much better, though, and combat almost feels satisfying, where it was pretty hollow in Bioshock 1.

Bioshock 2 is a good game, it's just not a great game like the first one.

It's worth a playthough though, plus the trade in value is only like $3-$4 now. So crack it open and also get the Minerva's Den DLC to add to the experience, and story.

The story is awful but the gampelay is improved. I actually really enjoyed the multiplayer too, I actually had fun ranking up level 40, I thought it would be a boring grind.

It lacks the atmosphere of the first game I think.

I think it's a better game than the first one, but the story isn't as memorable. It's a much more focused and better told story, just not as memorable. The combat is much better than the first though. Overall, it's a better game, you just have this nagging feeling throughout that you've done and seen it all before.

A little more than halfway through it and I actually prefer it over the first one. So far I'm really getting into the story, and all the audio logs you pick up go more into the conflicts in Rapture than they did in the 1st game. Granted, the 1st one is classic, but something about the 2nd one makes me like it more.

i wasnt sure if i was going to get the game but when i saw the limited edition at best buy for $20 (with my friends employee discount) i had to get it. and it was worth it!! itz a better game gameplay wise no doubt. the story depends on how much you were into the first one. I didnt think the story in the first game was very well put together so i think that this one is better just cuz or not just randomly kindly doing this for someone. this game is fun and a challenge as where the first one was just new and challenging

Imo it's no where near as good as the first game, seems more like Bioshock 1.5 instead of a sequel.

I gotta say, after playing it for a bit, it's a lot more scarier than 1 lol. Definitely keep it.

That's a really good way of putting it actually... Technically it's the better game but it lacks that "X-factor" that the first one had. But still worth a play-through for sure.

Im pleased you asked, since i just finished it today. I agree with DJ_Lae. I think they did a great job with Bioshock 2 and i felt they really fixed all the things that felt awkward in Bioshock 1, such as the feel of the controls. However, seeing as we've already visited Rapture, alot of the magic was gone 2nd time round. Such as discovering what happened to Rapture and what drove the inhabitants mad. I suppose i didn't feel quite as satisfied when i completed Bioshock 2, but its still a great game and if you enjoyed the original id definitely recommend you play 2.

I really liked it, and while I agree it isn't better than the first one, it also isn't worse. I actually liked the story, and enjoyed the ending I recieved. There are also some good moments, one that stands out involves a Little Sister and butterflies, but I won't spoil it.

Really you already have the game so why not pop it open and give it a try? Everyone has different opinions about it. Some say its not as good as the first one, some say its better. I enjoyed it myself. Its shorter than the first one though and there's multiplayer but I haven't tried that yet.

I completely skipped it. I didn't feel the series needed a sequel in the same setting, so I just pretend they didn't make one. Now Bioshock Infinite looks to be a proper sequel.

he might be on to something here. Bioshock 2 is a good game, but doesn't really feel like a sequel. With Infinite on the way you might want to save your money... unless of course you can get both. Actually, that's kind of what I recommend.

Yup, also the challenge from the first game is pretty much gone! Of course, you are a Big Daddy after all, but still, it takes a lot out of the experience - no longer are the enemies a challenge, but they're not scary anymore, and they seem more of a nuisance than something to survive against. 8/10 for me (fun factor), decent game.

I think BioShock 2 is a great game. I still like the first one the best for a lot of reasons, but I think the sequel holds its own quite well. I love the world of Rapture and returning to it was a real treat. It still has that feeling ofa time long gone andtense atmosphere plusbeing able to play as the Big Daddy is pretty cool (love that drill and I love those underwater bits). I was one of those people who thought that the sequel couldn't really measure up to the original and I'm here to report that I was really surprised at how good BioShock 2 really is. Is it short? yes. I gave my first impressions in one blog and a day or two later I was talking about completing it. Is it worth playing? absolutely. I picked it up for $10.00 and I think it would have been worth paying full price for. I say give it a chance and don't let the negative comments sway you-it's a great game and a perfect prep for BioShock Infinite.

I really liked it. I played the first and while I think the first one was better, I still think Bioshock 2 is a great game. It was a bit too short but the atmosphere of Rapture was still captivating and I really enjoyed the environment. That's why I love this series so much and Bioshock 2 provided me with that factor.

Bioshock 2 is really good, especially if you never played the first one, but either way, I still recommend it.

It is a legitimately good game. It catches a lot of hate because it isn't as good as Bioshock 1. Still worth a play for sure. Story isn't bad but not super twisty but it is still cool to play.

Bioshock 2 is my second favourite game! It's an absolutely amazing experience. It doesn't quite have the engrossing plot from Bioshock 1, but gameplay, graphics, level design and atmosphere are simply unforgettable in this masterpiece of gaming.
