well im going to be getting a PS3 soon, and i was wondering how good the browser is..how fast do pages load up on average and is it good enough to were you can play online videos and that kind of stuff...thanks to everyone that answers!
my PS3 is connected wirelessly and i have verizon fios. as far as page loads its probably about3-5 seconds for the average page so its kind of slow, but when it comes to watching videos it works great. PS3 is perfect for watching youtube. my playing bar never catches the buffering bar if that makes any sense.
Well I have high speed cable internet and pages load super fast on my 2 GB ram PC and they load at medium speed on my PS3 but I heard something about you can get linux and then use flash memory to boost your PS3's ram to be up to 4 GB??? Can you really do that? Anyway if you did that and had good internet then it would probably load pages at the speed of light.
As for videos, I haven't really tried that many except for Youtube videos (and they work).
It's alright, but if you have a PC I'd stick with it. It's the type of browser you use when you can't get to your PC. Also, pickup either a wired/wireless keyboard if you plan on using it unless you are the Text message Master. I *bows head* am not.
Granted, it won't replace your PC but it's a nice alternative, especially if you have a keyboard and mouse. It can bookmark your pages so you can go to you favorite pages pretty easy. You can even open about 3 pages at once.
We all have about two or three DVD players, hell some even have two or three gaming systems. Why not have two web browsers?
