I've downloaded the demo, but will not even get time to play it, the servers are up till 7th Feb (talking about Europe, not sure about US), so...What is the learning curve to this game? I'm guessing not as easy like a modern shooter? I'm so gutted that I won't be able to play the demo, I have Pre-ordered the the game though. Thanks

Personally, I found the controls very confusing at first. I gave the demo another chance and when I finally assimilated the controls, I discovered a great, great game.

u can change the controls to however u like, and in final product i believe i heard u can customize it to ur liking. also the ONLINE was down cuz sony was going through maintenance and it was effecting it. anyways i played the training challenge about 10x before i got used to everything, pretty easy now for me. then i jumped online and was lucky to get in about a handful of matches. so far the game is awesome, i honestly cant wait for it. but overall it has a slight lurning curve but once u get the hang of it ull be good. it really isnt that difficult to , i been playing nothing but STARHAWK and TWISTED METAL all week and i havent touched any games on my shelf lol. those 2 games are my most anticipating games on this year

For me it was very hard. I dont know if i suck at this kind of game now or if the adult beverages and new controls messed me up but i only got one kill out of 12 tries on single player. Fun still. I dont think it will be my favorite as i dont think nothing will beat Twisted Metal 2 for so so so many reasons for me.

It will be tough at first. I was playing TM since 1. I have TM2 on my PS3.

I've played 6 single player matches so far and had my ass whooped in everyone. I still don't have the controls down. I probably won't even play the demo anymore but I'm still buying the game.

Give it a fair chance and you'll be glad you did.

I don't play TM2 much and I get my butt kicked everytime I play. I used to be so good at it too. I'm surprised at how much I suck now.

Not hard at all. My first couple of rounds I got like 4th to 7th place but after that I started getting first place every single time.

I feel ya man, I use to be pretty awesome at TM2 especially, TM1 as well. But I'm alot older and haven't played the demo much but I can't get use to the controls and I suck at it. I sucked at TM: black and I stopped playing it after about 15 minutes lol.

I decided to play the demo again last night. 1st match I killed 1 guy, the 2nd I killed two and I won the 3rd. Oh yeah, it's all coming back now.

The previous games were tough, so I don't know if this one will follow the route or if it will become easier like 99% of games nowadays.

Yep, had to be patient and go to the tutorial and that helped quite a bit. I usually hate tutorials but this game needs it bad. I did enjoy it.

Yeah, troll much? You probably weren't even born whe the first two came out. "BLACK" was garbage, and so is this new one. Sorry, I know I'm in the minority on this, but I think the demo fo this new game is awful. Glitzy HD graphics and stupidly destructable environments don't make for great play.

I will be passing on this game. Rest of you enjoy it all you like tho.

You'd never have seen me online with the game, even if I was gushing like a schoolgirl about it. The fact is, I really don't like playing games online, the spamming and the cheating and the BS is more than it's worth. I play some CoD, but that's more about laughing with my friends than playing the game. I'm pretty over the whole online-focus of this gen. As far as split-screen, I need more than that for a $60 out-lay.

Might get it when it dips under $15. WELL under (like $10 or even less - So it might be months, might be years, either way I'm ok with waiting). It just doesn't have what TM2 has (which is on the HDD of my PS3 already and plays wonderfully in split-screen just like it always did). I don't like the characters, and the environments being ridiculously destructible turns me way off. I know not everything breaks like a house of cards when you hit it, but most all the houses falling apart like a FEMA trailer and trees splintering into dust with a touch was dumb. And, it's just missing the magic to me. Everythig after TM2 was missing it, and this game is no different, sadly. Jaffe has had all this time, and that's all he could come up with. Depressing. And before anyone says I haven't given the series or this game itteration enough time can come over and see that I have TM1 thru "Head-On", inclusive, and eat a poached egg outa my skivvies. I love "Twisted Metal", but this one (like so many over the years) fails to grab me in the way the first two did, and continue to do to this day.

I'd rather play the game I love than try to find my love in a game just because it's newer and more shiny.

:)

It was quite hard at first but when you play after a while, you'll get the hang of controls.

The longer I play the game, the more enjoyable it gets. Definitely will be getting it! Discovered another great PS3 exclusive. :)

It's only difficult at first. Go through the tutorial and then play a few matches, learn where the weapon pickups are at and where the health pickups are as well. Once you do that it's just a matter of learning how to use different sorts of vehicles.

But the game is looking fantastic. I am extremely impressed with what they have done. However some people won't get the enjoyment out of it that they should considering all they have is nostalgia for TM2 which at the time was amazing, but doesn't hold a candle to this new TM.

To me this game seems like a perfect mix of Twisted Metal 2 and Twisted Metal Black but withbetter visuals and deeper mechanics.

same here, i have always been a SP kinda person. the only online games ever caught my attention and made me want more was killzone and resistance series and soon to be starhawk. but i understand where u coming from bro. its cool. although i have to admit, that the spark isnt there like it was for me as well with TM1 and 2. but i still love it enough to buy it in full on launch day. guess we all have out opinions u know

I didn't play Black much, but it would be my second favorite after 2. I remember playing 1 again after trying 2 and I never bothered playing 1 again. They were worlds apart as far as I can remember.
