shutup with your "im cooler than most gamers, look at how I mock them". Games consoles have the ability to change peoples lives just as much as any other form of entertainment.

A game could make you want to join the army or become an athlete.

For me, games have made me want to create them lol, I went to a course in games development. Ill be a concept artist one day, just you wait!

My PS3 has made me aware of the ever increasing problem of Global Warming, it has changed my opinion on the important issues neglected in daily life. I also have gained more respect for people who are handicapped, it has made me aware that taking things for granted is never good since not all people have such luxuries.

--

I'm just fooling with you :P dude it's a console, it doesn't change anything in a persons life, well may be it re-arranges the way he spends his time but thats it.

Hold on fellas I wasn't trying to be an arse but come on....change you life? Give me a break! I game as much as most of you all but its not like I played Madden 94 and wanted to be a pro football player (or whatever the example was given). I can see if you want to become a gaming developer but other than that its for entertainment and the fantasy of doing things that you wouldn't ordinarily be able to do. Some of you all need to chill out and go outside for a change.

The console itself hasn't changed my life, but the idea of gaming and cinematic gaming has always made me want to be a game designer or movie director, or even animator, since I have been 5 years old.

I completely agree with you. If playing an army game makes you want to join the army thats worse, do you know that when you die in the army you dont come back to life?

No.

I'm sure s/he was under the impression that the omnipotent being playing the game of life would just restart their Ps3 and they would be back in action. On the front lines. Killing some **** enemy soldiers in the most epic bullet time, because there is no way an omnipotent being would play a game without it.

you just don't get it do you? the whole "go outside for a change" thing you can just keep that to your self to think that gamers are sometimes some of the most generalizing people about things that they like to do your a gamer your self you should know that that does not mean you don't go outside the world would be a so much better place if people played a game instead of doing all the other stupid and dangerous things available "outside"your just ignorant anything no matter how big or insignificant can change someones life and unless you can perceive the same things the same way they do you have no way of understanding

Well it kind of depends. If you mean completely change who you are, then for me, no. Although it has because what would happen if all the hours that I've played my PS3, I wasn't playing my PS3? What would I have done with that time? I have a slightly different outlook on life, and I don't feel like explaining it.

hopefully it doesn't change ur life too much especially in ur social life. games are fun and all but chosing to play ur game over going out with friends is just not right.

that why i stop play mmorpgs and become a causal fps gamer :D (just didn't find much time on my hands when college started)

so nice to be able to shoot some one in the head after i finish taking a stressful exam :D

I did that. I'd rather stay home play videogames than go out drinking with my friends or doing drugs. I like friends that liked videogames...altho, Im hangout with my g/f most of the time, and she has a PS3 as well. and she's on my PS friendslist too.xD

...You're missing the point. But I don't see a reason to explain in detail if you're intending on keeping your opinion. I'll keep it as such: A game can indeed change you if it has a good lesson or moral. It doesn't have to be Sports/War/Racing/Real stuff. And of course, after saying this: No. Just no. Gaming, much less the PS3, has never changed my view on things. Maybe motivation here and there. :P :P

It has shown how little video games are a priority in my life anymore. It's the only next gen system i have and the games i've played have been good, but i just don't play like i did in the NES days, or even my ps2 days. I'm in my mid 20's now and this is the first gen i can think of since i started playing video games that i don't feel as if i'm getting my money's worth in terms of use. This has nothing to do w/ the system itself, just my lack of desire to play games at all anymore. I did love Uncharted though.

Wow, how has it changed my life, I spend every waking moment thinking about playing with it. When I am not home I wonder who is playing with it. and when I invite friends over, no one touches it, not even to load a game. I think of buying it more games, peripherals, wall papers, themes. I constantly monitors how hot it gets, it seems I always know when it needs to cool down.

Yes it has dramatically changed my life.
