Very low, after FFXII I lost faith and at best they could make something similar to FFX which is still not as great as some of the older FF in my opinion. However the game will most likely get 9+ because it's FF. I'm hoping for a DQX for PS3 instead not to mention there are several RPGs coming out this year for the PS3 that look much more promising.Mongo-Boss
No offense, but all creditability in that post dries up with me when you mention:
Generic quest X request. Although I do admit that XII was a huge letdown.

Am I the only one who enjoyed XII? Keeping in mind, my fav FF is on the SNES, so, I've played many of them.
Nah, I liked XII a lot. Not in my top 3 of best FFs, but certainly somewhere in the middleAm I the only one who enjoyed XII? Keeping in mind, my fav FF is on the SNES, so, I've played many of them.

*Looks up at everyone's expectations.*
That IS high!
But anyways, nah, there were several. It's just that FF was always known for "teh" ' epic plots...and FFXII barely even knew what a plot was. In my opinion.

What was so bad with Dragon Quest VIII?I read DQIX was a DS title so I hoped for the next one to be for the PS3 :?
I'll be honest...mine are set very high. Even moreso are my expectations of Final Fantasy Versus XIII. I thought it was a very weird and risky idea to come out with three Final Fantasy XIIIs, but Versus just looks amazing now.
The big political plot of FFXII was interesting and a great addition to the series in its own right, but I'm kind of hoping that FFXIII returns to some of the essence that is associated with the Final Fantasy series. From the previews, it seems as if it has the potential to be similar to Final Fantasy VIII, which I loved.

I'm what The_Tombo calls a:
"Originality Whore" and Final Fantasy XIII is set to destroy any previous JRPG in terms of innovation....and the story sounds epic. Quite the opposite really for DQ.
All I ask is that Sqaure creams Final Fantasy X, which is my favorite FF.
VII was my least favorite...I even considered VIII better.
*Here it comes.*

Physically impossible. Nothing is as big as Chuck Norris' weiner!
Though my expectations of FFXIII come close :P
Close is an exaggeration and a fantasy that simply must be put back in it's place. Never compare thyself to Chuck Norris.

Well could you point me towards the FFXIII site to see if I become hyped?DQVIII was my first and only DQ and it seemed fun to me although my favorite RPG is still amongst the PS1 RPGs. There were so many good ones it is hard to choose.

Ask and thou shall receive.
It's a little much, but they have everything I believe. From interviews, game info, pics, to the vids.

We all do whenever Chuck Norris is involved. :(
If this game fails to meet my next JRPG high, Enix and me are done. (Save for Tri-Ace)Symphonycometh
If it fails, it fails, Atlus and Level-5 have a nice comfy landing for you though, so, it's all good.

Persona III and Star Ocean 4 should be enough in case FFXIII becomes the next epic fail. ...Add Valkyrie Profile 3 to that.

Also Disgaea 3, P3: FES is a cool idea, I love that they are offering a lowered price "upgrade" version for those of us with P3 all ready, no one ever said Atlus didn't know how to please their fanbase.
I just hope its better than FFXII,...sooo my expectations aren't that high. But I believe FFXIII is going to be outstanding and dominate the gaming market and Japan easily. I couldn't really get into the plot and most characters of FFXII. However, Lightning hasn't even said a word yet and I think she is going to be awesome as a main character.Zidaneski
It doesn't take much to beat XII. All you need is an actual plot. lol
Well, I would say FFXIII is on par with MGS4 and GoW3 as the ps3's top titles. I'm not discounting KZ2, Resistance 2, LBP, Infamous, etc., but I don't think any of them are quite up there, mainly because they haven't proven themselves as much.
I will say my expectations are very high, and it's easily the game I'm most looking forward to. I thought FFXII was great, it was different (saying there was no plot is very simple) seeing how it concentrated on the war and politics rather than a few characters like most FFs. It wasn't my favorite FF, but it was still good. FFVI was the best, and IV, VII, VIII, IX and X are all great too (and of course Tactics...(sequel dammit!)).
Aside from storyline, which we don't/won't know enough about for several months now to reach an opinion about (although, as someone else said, it looks like it's closest to FFVIII, which I find to be a very good thing).
In terms of production values, however, that's where my highest expectations remain. I expect FFXIII to be the best looking game ever made when it's released and also expect it to have at least 70-80 hours of gameplay with incredible music (taking advantage of the ps3 hardware) and an enjoyable battle system/advancement/equipment/etc.. Yes, that's a lot to expect, but it's plausible. Remember than the first FF on the ps1 and ps2 had those expectations. FFVII was the best looking game available when it was released, and was the first game to have really good FMVs, which started Square's dominance in that area (and they pretty much still dominate it). FFX was the best looking ps2 game when it was released (and I think XII is the best looking ps2 game now). Both games had new battle systems (although the Materia system was vastly superior in terms of advancement) and lasted 70-80++ hours.
What I really wish would happen is for them to bring back specific classes, much like FFIV and IX. X had somewhat specialized classes at the start, but eventually everyone was whatever you wanted them to be. I want black mages, paladins, white mages, red mages, blue mages, thieves, ninjas, kung-fu guys, etc. I realize FFXIII isn't in a setting to have such classes, but I can hope for FFXIV. ;) Or maybe even FF Tactics 2. *drool*
Anyway, with Disgaea 3, White Knight Chronicles, Eternal Sonata, The Last Remnant (although no telling when), FFXIII, FF Versus XIII, Star Ocean 4, etc. coming out in the next year or two (along with more I'm sure) I should be happy with JRPGs, not to mention all the MGS4s, GoW3s, KZ/R 2s, etc.

I too enjoyed XII, But I refer the Xll as Xl because I refer to Xl as FF Online because that game was garbage and should not have been part of the main FF Franchise, so the one about to come out in a year or more, XIII, should be refered to as XII.Please Log In to post.
