Yeah I know. Hopefully sometime soon the 40GB will have the software to download in the Playstation STORE.is0lati0n
amen to that. i cant hack having three consoles two is driving me crazy. (nodont want to sell one). it seems this generation for you to have a complete gaming experience you have to have atleast two consoles
To reduce costs, both PS2's Emotion Engine and GPU were removed from the 40 GB systems, that's why it can't play PS2 games.
NTSC 20 GB & 60 GB both have PS2's Emotion Engine and GPU, which makes it compatible with almost all PS2 games.
NTSC 80GB only has PS2's GPU, which means it'll rely on software emulation to play PS2 games, that's why there are a good amount of PS2 games that aren't enitrely compatible with it.

lol ur killing me. i have the feeling that sony is just testing how consumers will react with the ps2 bc on the 40gb. so my guess is if many ppl complain they might give a firmware update (dont hold ur breathe ull end up dieing) and if we dont they will take it like everyones moved to the next gen and dont care about bc anymore
