How is COD: Black Ops?

is it fun? are there alot of people playing?

Bleh. BO is fun and a lot of fresh stuff, but I really liked MW and even MW2 way better. Worth 60 bucks? Probably not.

I haven't played the single player, but the multi-player is way suckier than MW2 imo. It might be a little more balanced, but it's way too hectic run and gun type of gameplay. I was into the more methodical MW gameplay. Sniping is basically impossible in Black Ops and the spawning/framerate issues are really annoying.

I bought it cuz I wanted to play with my friends and will probably play it for a while. But i dont think its worth the cash honestly.

Aren't they doing another cod next year? Who is developing that? Hope they can bring something fresh to the table. The game is not bad, it's just not good and doesn't really do $60 more stuff than MW2. If you don't have a lot of friends playing, skip BO this time around and wait for killzone, bulletstorm, brink, resistance- one of the bazillion shooters in 2011 that hopefully will kick arse.

The one thing about Black Ops that has disappointed me quite a bit is the framerate. While not gamebreaking, it certainly slows down a bit, especially in multiplayer. MW2 was better, much better, than Black Ops in this category. But other than for that technical detail the game is great. Really hoping a patch can fix this, but I have my doubts.

last time i was on it said there was over 900k people playing, just for the ps3 version, so yea alot of people. the maps are kinda cool so far, the gameplay? i dont like it, lagggyyyyy across all platforms, 360, pc, wii, framerate drops all over the place, you empty an entire clip into some one and hit nothing but air as he teleports across the screen like the flash, enemies respawn behind you in multiples, you kill one guy and his entire team respawn either in front of you or in back of you leaving you with NO chance to get a killstreak, though i did manage to get a couple 7killstreaks so whatever.

Game seems pretty broken to me. The online matchmaking doesn't work as well as MW2, I haven't managed to get into even one full game, the framerate is constantly dropping (which is weird for a COD game), I lag constantly when playing online (MW2 I rarely ever did).

This is the first time I bought a Treyarch product and I am highly disappointed. I hope they patch this soon, otherwise its just one horrible mess.

I'd like to add or specify. The maps are horible with no lanes. Sniping is useless. Spawns are horrible andhit detection is horrible. Finaly theframe rate is horrible. I'm officialy done with call of duty. I liked all the other ones but this is the worste online game I've played besides socom confrontation. Its that bad.

IMO the Zombies mode and the Campaign are worth $60. Throw in a reused and recycled multiplayer mode that for some reason everyone gets stuck into, you have yourself an excellent game and purchase.

lol i am doing samething (buyer is coming in 30 mins)...this game is not fun at all....my k/d is 1.6, but ,BO looks bad on ps3 plus all other issues people already mentioned above...it's not worth to keep it. yes, it is more balanced cuz gun control is broken. It's more like counter strike or mag imo.

btw zombie is recycled too...you can play that on waw with much better graphics and gun. campaign is ....

Im having the same problem and its really annoying. I expected it to be as smooth as MW2. Its not a regular lag though, its indeed a framerate drop and even freezing I would say. It doesnt do this when playing with bots so I can only hope its an online-related issue which can be fixed asap. If not, I dont feel like playing the game for long.
