Does the PS3 have a marketplace of some sort, that allows you download demos, themes, and stuff like that? Does it allow you to have a friends list? And isn't it FREE? Any other cool stuff you can do online that I should know before buying one? BTW, I found an 80GB at a local retailer. Should I get the 80GB or get the 20GB from GameStop and just upgrade the hard drive myself.

The playstation store is like the marketplace where you make all purchases and downloads like demos and add-ons. There is friends lists and messaging (although not in-game...yet) and the online play is ALL FREE!! no annual fees

You will enjoy it for sure

Get the 40gb if you don't care about playing PS2 games on it and wont be DL a lot of stuff to the HDD. Otherwise get the 80gb. When you get it use it's web browser and google PS3 themes and you'll find thousands to DL for free. Enjoy!

Its pretty much the same thing, except there is no useless gamerscore. PSN is more refined and simple imo, and I personally prefer it over XBL.

No, 20GB doesn't have Wifi, all the other SKUs do though.

Do NOT get the 20gb. My friend has one and he cannot connect wirelessy to the internet. It also does not have all the slots that are on the 80gb and 60gb versions. I believe it only has 2 usb slots. the 80gb has 4 usb slots, an sd memory card slot (think photos from your digital camera) and two other slots, i have forgotten what they are for. the 80gb is also PS2 backwards compatible. 80gb is a better buy.

The PS3 connects to an online PSN store where you can download demos, map packs, themes and wallpapers, sony sponsored music videos, movie trailers and full games (e.g. some old PS1 classics and some new PS3 games).
