doin just fine IMO starting to pick up speedThe_ExculpatorYeah, this holiday season and 08' are looking to be great for games and ps3 owners. In terms of sales, it's doing good, should sell a lot of units this holiday, and in terms of sales it may even be around 5 or 6 million as they shipped 6 million, 60gbs mostly, and now they're saying they are about to run out of their 60gb supply, which is definetely not bad. 08' will see see large sales for the ps3 due to the heavy hitter games like MGS, Tekken, Gran Turismo, FF etc coupled with some analysts predictions of a price drop around that time.
Definetely not as good as the PS2.IdontrememberMuch better system though+once more people realise how good PS3 is,then it will sell a whole lot more. There seems to be a general lack of PS3 publicity around promoting it-in general press. All we seem to hear is bad news.

I know, sadly, they think the wii is awesome.

Ye. You cant compare it to the PS2 yet, as we haven't even really had a proper year yet (UK anyway). I would say in 2 or 3 years time, it'll be booming and maybe even surpass the PS2. Time will tell. The game producers have to carry ondoing their bit, and bring out loads of decent games, and it should be plain sailing from then.
its doing fine. it will increase even more when 08 comes. especially if they drop the price of the 80GB.
I have a 60GB and its worth having it now. I think that bluray will make it future proof, we are seeing that with the current games and the others coming out in 07. They look as good as the others and its just getting started.
Once the developers learn to take advantage of the space and hardware, it will goto the top like the PS2 did.
Just my 2 cents and why I got the system.

Care to explain?
there was this news a few years ago that saddam had bought thousands of PS2 to use its chip to guide missiles or something like that. with the Cell he could probably build his own nukes, find the cure to all the world's illnesses and find a way to make the dead come back to life
"How is the ps3 doing?"
PS3 says he's good. and asks "how are you?" .. lol.
It's actually doing ok. especially around here
PS3 is doin' just fine, regardless of what analysts are saying. TGS should be Sony's opportunity to shine.Prinze
Don't be such a fanboy. Pffft, ignoring analysts, you've reached a new low!
Lemme guess; Microsoft is paying people to say the PS3 is doing badly even though 900 trillion units have been sold!

yeah! analysts don't know crap! that's why they are, wait a second!
what are you talking about? Thats not being a fanboy, the majority of analysts make it seem like PS3s are in a dire situation, when the fact of the matter is, the company is trying to keep the PS3 sales to slowly grow and the ps2 sales boom. With sooooo much people with the PS2, to not make games for it anymore would be a big loss financial. That is why Sony does not advertise as much in the mainstream for PS3 because if PS3 starts gettin overhyped potential buyers will overlook the still playable PS2.

Analysts don't know crap - there's always analysts on both sides of the fence, there's always a decent chance one of them might be right. The PS3 is performing to Sonys standards - they knew the price of going into the market with a console that costs 600$, and, that high-end price will fall as time progresses.
Do you really think the millions of PS2 fans who enjoyed the Sony franchises won't be even slightly interested in sticking with the PS3 brand? Maybe not all of them will, but some will.. without a doubt. And once the price drops to a level that's approachable by the casual side - Sony will be good to go.
