How is the PS3 version of Battlefield 3? How does it compare to the PC one?

I want to hear some opinions about how does the PS3 version of BF3 feel. I especially want to know if it still maintains that epic feel of huge maps and epic battles going on all around you. How much does only 24 players take away from the experience? Are the maps much smaller? Do they feel empty?

Conquest mode might not be as awesome as on PC. It's still pretty awesome, but it's probably harder to rack up kills than with 64 players. Rush mode I think would hold up very well with 24 players. It seems to be pretty well balanced at that amount, any more and it might turn into grenade spam fests around the MCOM stations.

Anyone noticing that there are less servers than there were on day one? I'm on US west, but had to add in US east, just cause there weren't enough servers to play in....

Only the PC offers 64 player multiplayer, the consoles get a fraction of that.

I am in US east and got a **** load of servers over there. Maybe they base it on how popular each coast it? Like maybe more play it on the east then the west so they add more to the east? Just a thought

The east would definitely get more servers as there's more people there, but I'm just wondering...cause on launch day there was a ton of servers to choose from... Now it seems like there's only a handful that aren't empty or full.

If you can get it on the PC, get it on the PC. If you can't, then the PS3 is still a fun game, so it's still worth a purchase.

Just got it today, played for about an hour and a half and couldn't be more happier with it. I found the close quarter infantry only TDM to be the most fun so far. Def worth the money. If I had a nice computer, I'd probably get it on the PC but that's because I'm KB/M biased.. but I still love it on my ps3 so far.

Another thing worth noting, it definetely feels different than the beta, but for the better. You won't regret it.

Rather play 12 v 12 then 24 v 24 or 32 v 32. Too crazy with that many people 12 v 12 is the perfect amount in my eyes for games like this. With a TOP OF THE LINE pc yes the graphics are better but the graphics are still very very good on the PS3 version.

The PC versions will always have better graphics because people end up using better systems. I heard the reason the PS3 version was limited to 24 players was because the extra players would degrade the graphics of the game. Dice wanted the best gameplay for all systems and felt that 24 was the best of both worlds for the consoles. If I had a higher end PC I probably would have bought this for it. However, I still much enjoy playing it on my PS3.

32v32 is much more fun on the larger maps (Caspian Border for example).

I own the PC version, and am able to play it on high settings. The game does look beautiful, but honestly Origin and the Battlelog system are almost ruining the experience for me. Finding and getting into a game is taking me 10+ minutes, the browser and filters absolutely suck (says server has 10 empty spots, click join and it's full). I'm getting kicked from servers on a regular basis. Every problem BC2 had at launch, they've reintroduced in BF3: rubber banding, poor hit registration. 64 player sounds exciting, but the servers completely choke with this size and the battles turn into complete cluster ****s. I've been sticking to lower player counts like 48, 40, 32 and finding them much more enjoyable.

I'm not sure if these problems exist on PS3, but not having to deal with Origin or Battlelog to play the game has to be a MASSIVE improvement over the PC version. I believe there are slight map changes on PS3 to compensate for lower player size, but the absolute best map in this game has to be Grand Bazaar and that one plays out just fine with 24.

Hopefully DICE fulfills their promise of post launch support and fixes everything in this game. It definitely has a ton of potential, but it was released in typical DICE fashion: a complete mess.

On PS3 if you select a server with 23/24, odds are that it will be filled by the time you try to join. But on PS3 it gives you a queue of up to 8 additional people, so you could wait for a server and it tells you where you are in line (i.e. it will display "5th of 8 in queue", or whatever). However from what I've seen people dont drop out of games very quickly, so if you are 3rd or 4th in line for the server you might as well just refresh the list and choose a different game., Is that might be what you are referring to when it takes 10 minutes to join a game?

Have you tried to quick join games on PC or does the battlelog not allow random matchmaking? PS3 seems to put you in into quick match games no problem, just select the game mode you want to play and it puts you in a random server right away.

I'm not sure if that is any indication because the list doesn't display games with 24/24 players.

It seems to flucuate, and actually if less servers are showing to me that indicates more poeple are playing, not that there are less total servers. I'm in the south region and I've seen my list with as little as 5 or 6 available servers, but at other times I can scroll trhough about 3 pages of servers (this seems to happen where there are alot of games with 23/24 showing for whatever reason). It seems pretty random, I doubt they would have actually REMOVED servers already though considering the userbase is probably going to be growing for a few weeks at the very least.

My PS3 froze when I tried to log in to battlelog last night.
