This isn't meantto be a whine thread or anything like that but I find it a little ridiculous that we still cant get online, I figured Sony had some of the best people working for them as far as the online stuff goes (because IMHO PSN is the best there is, great deals anda lot of cool content).

What bothers me the most is that Sony isn't even keeping us posted. Who knows, maybe they are having some serious problems getting it back up.

This is worse for them then it is for us. Every hour they don't get it online they could be losing potential investors/customers/partners

Well I doubt it's for lack of trying. The PS Store is more profitable than the PS3 for their game division, so it's likely they're doing everything they can to have everything back and running. I get a feeling whatever happened when the PSN got hacked must have been pretty serious.

PSN is free-- patience is a virtue. If i was paying for the service, then i would be angry. But alas, I am not.

This is one of those reasons i'm glad that I own a PC. If you guys bought Portal 2 for PS3, download your PC copy and come play with us. PS3 + PC FTW

Listen, man--I'm no expert in the field, nor will I pretend to be one. However, I would assume that getting PSN back up and running from DOS attack and/or whatever detrimental vestiges it left on the system requires quite a bit of time and numerous steps, both mandatory and precautionary, to accomplish. Plus, there are other (unknown) factors that contribute to how long this process will take--such as the competency level of the employees assigned to this particular task, to name one. Eventually, PSN will be fully restored to its former configuration (maybe even as soon as today); just try to be patient in the mean time.

I think its taking so long because they wont put it back up untill they can stop the hackers from whatever they were doing. PSN was functional when Sony shut it down, just a few thing not working correctly, they want to beable to make it so it can't be hacked again.jcopp72

Why are people saying its the weekend so nobody will be working to get it back on? Of course they will be trying to get it back on, people do work on saturdays ya know! Anyway im sick of it aswell, bored of playing single player games! Hopefully it wont be much longer now! Finger's crossed.:)

How about all the people complaining go to work on the weekend and not spend time with their families, then we'll see how you cope. People at Sony have a life as well, and just like everybody else, they want to go home and relax, instead of work.

When you apply for a job and work on-call always, lets see how you like it, give them a break.

Oh well, it's a good thing I have a fair amount of singleplayer games. I can't imagine how ticked off all the kids who play COD all the time must be.

I can't imagine what they're all doing.

For me, I've just been playing games on PC and DS, things could be worse.

I don't play much online anymore, so this really hasn't been a bother to me at all. It is a shame this had to happen thouh, especially on an extended weekend. As for Sony, you really can't be too upset with them, it's not like their employees are without families whom they wish to spend the holiday weekend with. My best advice: Enjoy the weekend as best you can with your family and friends, play offline, and keep hoping Sony finishes up with this problem ASAP.

Yes you think about, lets call you in at 3am, and make you spend the entire weekend at work just because something is broken, and it inconveniences a few users. If your so worked over this, then whats it like for the people in Japan after their disasters?
