I've had my PS3 on 24/7 for over a week during the Australian summer. I'm pretty sure you'll be okay to copy a video. ;)

I personally turn mine off when I'm done with it, but I've seen posts of other users where they've left their PS3 on for days at a time without a problem. So long as it can breathe well, it shouldn't be a problem to leave it on for a long period of time.

I've had mine on for a few days several times. People with folding @home I've heard had it on for weeks at a time.

I wouldn't leave it on for more than a couple minutes at a time if you don't want to get the RRoD...oh wait, wrong console.

Sorry, I couldn't resist.

Is this a serious question? Or are you just bored.

Very good said :D, because PS3 doesn't have any problems if you leave it on for a longer time.

As long as you keep it WELL ventilated, it doesn't really matter.

Well the longest i've left my PS3 for is 5 days ...

So yea a couple of weeks is properly the limit without risking an extremly high power bill ...

I haven't turned my PS3 off in several months and have never had a problem. When I'm not using the console I leave it F@H and the power consumption is really not that much (cost maybe a couple of dollars a month) much less than the pay to play program of the other system. And the thing is F@H is doing something worth while.

sometimes i get home from work and my ps3 is on... my dog turns it on caz hes a big beasty and likes to lie down on my couch and and doesn't seem to notice or care hes lying on a controller..

i don't think it matters as long as theres sufficient ventilation

I usually keep mines on for like 1 month at a time. It's still perfectly fine and i dust it and clean it once in a while. I'm sure you'll be fine as long as you keep it well ventilated.

my ps3 has definitely put in some extended hour sessions. just make sure it's well ventilated and you're good. i haven't had any issues with mine after it putting in maybe 18-20 hours or so of movie watching, gaming and then just playing music while people were over.
