downloaded Dead Nation, Ratchet and Clank, Burnout Paradise, Magic the Gathering and Infamous 2 demo in 2 hours.
Not counting the time I spent trying to get into the store, it too me maybe a little over an hour to DL my two free games.
They gave us a pretty crappy selection to choose from. I already have LBP 1 and I'm bored of it, I've already played, beaten and sold Infamous, and the rest of the free games are just plain boring.
30 days free of Playstation plus? Meh, any of the games I get with my plus account will be gone after my 30 days runs out. And it's not worth it to continue paying.
I am disappoint.
It took me 10+ hours to download Infamous. I left it on overnight. Mau-Justice
Me too. It was done by this morning.
Honestly, don't really know. I started the DL 30 minutes before I headed off for work. 9 hours later, the games were completed & ready to be installed on my PS3. I was running Folding@Home while letting Infamous & Dead Nation DL in the background. Killed 2 birds with 1 stone so to speak! :P

infamous 1hr, dead nation 15mn, and both my psp games 30min. so around 12gb in 1hr 45mins not to bad it was downloading movies off psn store that are slower than heck 1 gb an hour pathetic!!!!!
How exactly can you set your ps3 to turn off after downloading? That way I can download stuff overnight and be ready to go tomorrow.Would appreciatte any tips

My recommendation would be to run Folding@Home while the games are DLing in the background. There is a setting on Folding@Home to have it turn off automatically, at your own preference of course. It's truly a no-brainer plus you get to contribute to medical research for a good cause! To run Folding@Home you need to access "Life at Playstation" & go from there. I hope this helps!

1 hour for both Infamous and LBPBakedDank420
You're joking right?
You're saying it took you 60 minutes to download10 gigs of data? That's a speed of 2.7 MB/sec ... can the PSN servers even UPLOAD that fast?
I mean, don't get me wrong ... for most us with broadband the limiting factor will definitely be how fast THEIR servers can upload, but it seems hard to believe that with so many people DLing that PSN can even send data that quickly.
I'm downloading inFamous right now and it's at 30-something percent. After 2 days.
2. Days. Horrible, ain't it? I'll update you guys when I finish, probably after nearly a week or something.
-sigh-

Can you stop the download and turn off the system, and then resume again the next day? Or does it not support that?
If so, what happens if you get a temporary dropout or loss in connection/power? Those things are quite common, I hope you are able to resume downloading and not have to start from the very beginning ...
I don't understand how it could take some people 20+ hours and some people under one hour to download the SAME amount of data from the SAME place.
If everyone is on broadband (which unless I'm mistaken, you HAVE to be), then the limiting factor here should be the PSN servers and their upload rate, which should be roughly the same for everyone, should it not?
I can understand if some people were on broadband and others were on dial-up or downloading from different servers, but why would there be such large variations in the speed?
All broadband connections should be capable of very fast download speeds, so however fast Sony's servers can transfer data right now should be what determines how long it takes, should it not?
This is only the download times, not the install. I downloaded these yesterday.
inFamous 1 hour
LBP 20-30 minutes
Dead Nation 15 minutes
Wipeout HD 15 minutes
25mb/s down
inFamous 1 hour
25mb/s down

At that speed, shouldn't inFAMOUS only have taken you under 5 minutes?
At any rate, it's good to know that there are people that are getting very high rates of data exchange. Hopefullymy connection will allow for that.
Can you stop the download and turn off the system, and then resume again the next day? Or does it not support that?It has resume support, don't worry :) I wouldn't keep my PS3 on for more than 5 hours nonstop. I have built-in wooden shelving; I turn it off when the right side feels like it's about to spontaneously combust. I just turn it back on and resume the download (I think it applies to background downloads which I'm doing, and it seems to take longer downloading things on the PS3 compared to the computer.)If so, what happens if you get a temporary dropout or loss in connection/power? Those things are quite common, I hope you are able to resume downloading and not have to start from the very beginning ...

We only have the lowest speed our provider can give, so yeah. It's such a hassle.
I've been dowloading Infamous for the past two and a half hours... It's at 36%, it'll probably take awhile.
