how long do leave your ps3 on

i sometimes leave it on for like 9 to 10 hours a day is it safe to leave it one that much

On average I would say 4 hours per day.

I always flick the little switch on the back after im done playing. so it could be on for anywhere from half and hour to 7 hours or 10 hours. or when i was younger sometimes 14 hours.

It's on most of the day. The only time it's off really is when I am going to sleep.

Usually only 2 hours a day. One time I left my Ps3 on all night though and I was freaking out it was going to break.

Keep my on only when playing a game or watching a movie. Hardly ever keep it on when not playing unless I'm doing a liquor run or something of the nature. I don't think it's good to keep anything on that long, especially since the PS3 boots up so fast, no like you have to wait for anything.

Usually for 6 hours, then i go running.

After 2 hours straight I turn it off

I always leave it on standby.

Usually around 4 hours a day. 2 1/2 hours for gaming and 1 1/2 hour to stream a Netflix movie.

I've heard of people that never cut theirs off. As long as the PS3 is in an open, well-ventilated area there shouldn't be a problem. I've left mine on for several days folding@home before. No problems at all. (launch 60GB)Doolz2024

10 hours playing, movies, yeah, bout all day long.

Meh i leave both my ps3 and 360 on for many hours at a time. They ahve both died twice. The ps3 lasting 4 months(disc read error)then 11 months(ylod) and the 360 lasting 8 months(rrod) then 23 months(rrod).

So far the slim has lasted 7 months and its onway(like 12 hours instead of8 hours)more than the ps3 fat that died twice so maybe its much better...hopefully:?

i leave it on until i remember to turn it off which could be up to 8 hours at a time,it sucks because u have to leave it on to charge your contreollers.

My PS3 has about 1-2 hours of action per week:P

Its not that bad... If its constantly warm then its less damaging than switching it on and off and on and off during the day... think lightbulbs and the constant changing of temperature.

I leave mine on about 14 hours a day

the safest way i do it, is 3 hrs max, then a 30 min. rest, then continue playing for another 3 hrs (if i wanted to), but no more than 3 hrs at a time

I don't really worry about how long I have it on. I just turn it off when I am done using it.

same here. can't believe so many people leave their ps3 on for so long.

one day I was on the verge of beating infamous and the fam wanted to go to the movies and eat afterwards... could of did 1 of 2 things...start back over since if I were to save I would be startig back over anyway or.. 2 leave that sucker on and beat it when i come back...needless to say I left it on for 6-7 hrs.

Its not that is bad but with all electronics after prolonged use you will start causing wear and tear if you leave it on too long all you are doing is speeding up the process. But if your playing it at least you are getting use out of it but you shouldn't leave it one when you sleep because what is the purpose its not like you can play it a sleep if you can that is one good skill you got there.

lol thats not safe but Im worst, cuz I turn off my ps3 when I wake up and its on the whole day, till I go to sleep. Sometimes its on for like 2 days. Im bad to my PS3 cuz I have it on even if Im not even in the house. I go out with friends for a couple hours and my ps3 is on. Basicly my PS3 is on 24/7.
