How long do you think Uncharted 2's Multiplayer will last.

Now I am in no way bashing Uncharted 2, even I have become quite amazed and some of the gameplay video and reviewers seem to dig the game aswell. What I want to know is how long do you think the multiplayer portion of Uncharted will stay popular? With games like Modern warfare 2 coming and that game built with more interest into multiplayer and Uncharted for Single player do you think it will last as long or longer than alot of other popular online shooters/others.

I am not calling Uncharted 2's MP tacked on and I have no right to judge how it plays but it seems like every other game that comes out that "Should not have had MP", their multi kinda fails or sucks in comparison to other games. Some great examples of this are Prey, Dark Sector, The Darkness, Resident Evil 5 etc, etc. So do you think the Multiplayer portion of Uncharted 2 can go the mile and keep up with other great online games and break this curse of "Tacked on MP", or will it be something people play for a week and then go running to COD? I have had this on my mind for quite awhile and I just got around to asking it lol.

it will last as long as the servers are running, there is still people Farcry 1 multiplayer, there are hundreds of people still playing MP of chaos theory, why wouldnt the bigest game ever last as long as those games?

That what I forgot to add to the post. The DLC that could possible expand the game. I believe if Uncharted 2's MP is extremely good and gets lots of support from Naughty Dog then I believe the whole tacked on curse thing will be broken.K1LLR3175

On Nov 10 who is not running to COD? Other than the activision haters??? I am sorry but if a game gers my interest and i have not played a game like COD4 since its release then of course i am going to but MW2 when it comes out. Uncharted 2 multiplayer will last as long as their are a different variety if it is generic like any other online multiplayer game only time can tell.

If I had to guess....I'd say MW2 will take a lot of players from UC2's multiplayer. I believe most people are hyped about the single player experiance and will give the multiplayer a go for awhile, but, once games like MW2 come out the online community in UC2 will suffer a bit. With that said you'd probably still be able to find a game on UC2 with little effort for 4-5 months. This is all just my opinion of course.

I think it will have a decent run, it does seem like ND put a lot of work into it, knowing that MW2 is coming soon after it looks like a good second choice for MP, I plan on spending a good amount of time playing online, I'm excited to try it out.

Having played both multiplayer demos, it seems like the game has some serious legs. Between the multiple competitive modes, co-op objective and co-op arena (similar to horde mode), this game is going to keep me interested for a long time. Naughty Dog sure nailed the fun factor with all aspects of the online, and once you factor in all the unlockables, this game is going to last.

We all know Modern Warfare 2 is gonna be incredible, but how different will it really be from CoD4? For anyone looking for something a little different, Uncharted 2 will be hard to pass up.

It will last awhile for me since I won't be buying MW2 and I have never played COD4 online. I played the beta of U2 in June and loved it as I like the characters and felt the mulitplayer was fun with the added platforming element you don't see in other online games. Though I'm not naive and I know a lot of people love COD series I'm sure it will take a hit when MW2 comes out in November but I think it will keep a decent amount of people online for a long timeas there is definitely a decent enough diehard Uncharted fans out there. I mean if R2 can still have online community this long why wouldn't U2 when it's mulitplayer seems more fun to me.

I'm one of the 50people who bought Dark Sector, I never have a problem finding a match online. Uncharted 2 is a thousand times better so I know the multiplayer community will be active a LOOOOOOOOOONG time!!!! lol

I think it will actually last a while but i'm not sure how long. I know I will be playing it even as mw2 comes out. When the mgo beta came out I had fun playing it in tandem with mw1 cause both games felt different. So I had a cool feeling like I could change the pace if I wanted. I think uncharted 2 will be the same for me. I will play it for about a month and then when mw2 comes out I will play both games while switching off. They both offer different things and they do it really well. The most satisfying thing in multiplayer is hanging on a ledge and pulling a guy down when he passes by.

Oh btw, has anyone tried teh machinima mode in custom game? Or the special matrix-weapon room style level? I just found out about them yesterday.

I think the coop will probably last longer than the competitive modes. Cause the coop is rediculously fun.

I think it will last awhile but I think the coop will last longer. There's more than enough room for more than one online game out there.

I beg to differ since there are big enough community of people who just don't want to play MW2. Also, U2 has a great following and there will definitely be a pretty good size community. While no where as big as MW2 I'm sure it will be right up there with R2.

I don't know what is popular as of online for the PS3 yet, but I think it could do pretty good.

I think its gonna last a very long time... I mean it is very hyped up.

And its certainly not tacked on. Nothing is sacrificed (cover still works, graphics still gorgeus, COOP and VS mode, very interesting take on the CTF mode etc.)

COD6 is basicaly CoD4, i think some people wont be blinded by the perfect reviews it gets...

I think it will last awhile but more importantly I can give logical reasons as to why it will. First off the game has around 7 or 8 maps based off of what I've seen for the multiplayer becuz g4tv did a special run through of a couple of maps if not all of them. The only problem is that there is like a temple map then you have an aztec water fall map which they are different for the most part but you also have to snow level maps and maybe two city type maps. All in all the maps are pretty good based off of what I've seen.

The graphics in mp look good and the weapon selection is pretty good too. Also, this game offers a unique type of multipler as well. There should be plenty of people to play against for a long time to come seeing as not only do you get a great single player game which alone would be a good game in and of itself supposively but you also get a great mp attachtment with it as well.

Those are my reasons based on what I've seen and read of the game.

Projected to be my number one multiplayer game for quite a while, uncharted DF was my favorite game of this generation. U2 is truly a dream come true!!!

Then again your buying the mp with Modern Warfare 2 and its practically the same thing so I don't know. Its kinda hard knowing that this will be somewhat similar to Modern Warfare 2 with the guns and all....when I can something completely different that I've been waiting on for awhile such as Tekken 6 that offers everything I would want in a fighting game that is if you like fighters like me.

I think I'm gonna wait till modern warfare 2 releases then buy it then decide if I even want uncharted 2 at that point. Becuz I could easily see myself saying why play that online when I've got MW2. Then I may just go by Tekken 6 instead and would still have a very good reason to do that.

I can't think of any other Multi-player game I would be playing. I'm a fan of Naughty Dog and Uncharted so nothing else would interest me. I've played the beta as well and co-op is a blast.

A long ass time like playing cod4 multiplayer...

According to G4TV, it has 7 online maps for Competitive. You can do Team Deathmatch or Capture the flag for it. If your bored with that, you can play Co-op on probably 7 maps also and you can play on Gold Rush on 7 different maps also.

I've been in both of the betas, and I can say that the 2nd was a HUGE improvment, if the final products online was just the 2nd beta, I'd be happy with it. Since its not and there is MORE, its going to be around for awhile.

its pretty cool too because the people I play with are the top rankers of the game, so we have an unstoppable team.

i definately think the multiplayer will last. I played the beta w/ the voucher from infamous and it (uncharted 2) was awesome. I do think that more modes would be welcome, but Uncharted 1's strength was the awesome story. So i think a lot of people will focus on that, but the multiplayer is definately promising.
