The post about game prices peaked my interest a bit and I want to use this thread as sort of an ability barometer. I have to admit I love playing but it takes me about 2 1/2 months for me to finish a game basically because I'm not 20 anymore and am loaded with obligations (all good of course). So essentially I get about 2 hours of game time a week. I know much of this depends on the game but if you can provide an overall average-that might work best. The reason why I want to know? Just curiousity

I can usually beat a game in about 3-4 sittings and that's taking my time. I'd say 3-4 hours at a time. A lot of games don't go past 15-16 hours anyway.

it depends on the game. i always sit at nights for about 4 or maybe 5 hours cause i work from noon to 9 o clock in the night.

some games till now took about 2 weeks , like ninja gaiden sigma 1 2 normal and hard , inFamous , while some took less than a week, uncharted 1 , resistance...

Depends on the game, a week (50 hrs for Demon's Souls), or maybe just a day or so. I almost never beat a game in one sitting.

A short game like Uncharted or Batman AA for example would take me a week or 2 if i was trying to make it last longer. RPG's will take me easily over 50+ hours

RPGs: Anywhere from 2 weeks to a month. I take my time with them and try to do as much as possible.

Action/Advenure/Platform: About a week or so.

It usually takes me quite a while to finish a game. I mostly play on hard, first, if I can, and I always take my time. I usually only play for a few hours and I often go days without touching the game. Sometimes even longer. I still haven't finished inFAMOUS and I've had it since it was released. I'm about to play a bit more of Uncharted 2. I'm thinking I'll finish it either tonight or tomorrow.

Perhaps it varies on the game/genre. In my most humble opinion. I may be wrong about this.....yeah, I most definitely could be wrong about this.

Usually 10 hours for the average game, rarely more than 10, generally between the 7-9 range. For a more complex game maybe 30-40. That being something like Oblivion or Fallout or even GTA IV due to the amount of sandbox content and ability to free roam.

Depends on how much free time I have. Either a couple of weeks or a couple of months. I work so that takes up most of my time. I plan on doing some gaming today since it's my day off and I bought inFAMOUS yesterday before heading into work. Just have to pick up my paycheck at work and get a couple of things.

Ouch. 2 1/2 months is a long time. I can finish a game in a couple days, but then again my workload isn't as heavy as yours is.

Depending on the game, i like to explore around the levels, basically take my time. So about 7-20hrs. I can only sit about an hour at a time before my ADD builds up.

I get about an hour a day, maybe 5 days a week to play (married with 3 kids). That's just an average. I might get 10 hours in a good week. I guess it takes me anywhere from 2 - 6 weeks to finish a game.

action/adventure games take me about 8-10hrs J/A/SRPGs take me about 40-50hrs to complete... However, i would often run into RPGs that could easily take me over 100hrs to pass simply becasue somewhere down the line i will neglect the main story and start grinding levels and collecting/upgrading equipment (granted, this has to be an RPG i really enjoy)... as for how long it takes to pass these games in real life... well, that completely depends on my general schedule (including work and social activities). But even if i have the time, i don't play for more than 2hrs a day (well... 3hrs would be an extreme case).

if its an amazing game, it would take me 3-4 sittings.

if i get stuck (which i am in uncharted 1 and kz2) might take me 10 sittings. rpgs about 2 weeks if its really good. fastest i beat an rpg was 3 sittings (kotor2) in three days

thats all depending if i'm not addicted to a mp game or a sports game. cod4 really got me stuck, and for awhile that was all that i was playing....so uc1 and kz2 have been sitting there for awhile...i'll finish em eventually

Depends on the game..... this is how i remember my first play through of some games, note that I like to take my time with new games.

Oblivion - Still playing ( finishing all the guilds and add ons ) its been 2 months

Far Cry 2 - 2 weeks

MGS4 - 4 days

Uncharted- 2 days

Uncharted 2 - 4 days

Resistance 2 - 2 days

Batman AA - 2 days

Re5- 5 days

I usually make my self put a game down if i think i will beat it in a day.....
