Mine's been going pretty much non stop since it came out. Other than bouts of gaming and occassional power outtages it's been constant folding. 754 work units completed and counting. :DlyndonAPI

hahaha yeah i think so too
I use my PS3 sometimes as a heater for my room at night lol. I usually leave it on for 4-9hrs or so and i love that new automatic shutdown feature on it. The music also really isnt that bad to listen to. I hope they add in like rainstorm, thunder, and rain forest sounds eventually lol so i can just listen to it before sleeping.Kurushio
I do that as well, even though it doesn't release much heat after about an hour of folding.

I think I have only 14 units. I used to really crazy leaving it on, but I do it once and awhile now.
As for people that don't about Folding@Home *HoodCheese* Don't beg man, I see you asking and asking. Just wait and someone will answer your question.
Here is the link, read about it when you have time.

and 8 hours for one unit? what does a unit do though? Lol,sorry to keep asking questions.
I'll try to remember the name, if your log into PSN right now. Just add me, OrinBoyd *look at the siggy*
As for the 1 unit, I'm new to the folding home myself. I guess it's just research for Stanford, but it's doing it for a good thing. Just think of it as giving money to the homeless, You're helping them out by feeding them.
As for Folding@Home, Leaving on system and donating energy for research is helping them find a cure? I'm just saying whatever comes out of my mouth now, I hope someone explains it better LOL

Did it raise your electric bill significantly?
Taken from my PS3 FAQ Thread (linked in my sig - check it out sometime)
"What is Folding@Home?
Since October 2000, over one million CPUs throughout the world have participated in this distributed computing project. The goal of this project is to research protein folding and misfolding to gain an understanding of how these are related to disease. Targeted diseases include (but are not limited to) Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, and many forms of cancer. Your participation will help accelerate the understanding of these and other diseases. For more information, please visit Stanford University's Folding@homeTM website located at: http://folding.stanford.edu/. The PS3TM system's Cell Broadband EngineTM (Cell/B.E.) processor will dramatically add to the computing performance of the Folding@homeTM project. Folding@homeTM on PLAYSTATION®3 utilizes the RSXTM graphics processor to provide a real-time visualization of the folding behavior of proteins. The locations of PS3TM systems that are running Folding@homeTM are displayed on the world map that is visible in the background. It's nice to know that you can be curing cancer and other diseases when you're not playing your PS3 :)."
