Sony have said it will be at the very least 2 years until they think they will stop focus on the PS3 completely. There are plenty of great games already out, plenty of great games coming this yearm and I'm sure plenty more for the future. Buying a PS3 now wouldn't be such a bad choice.

Considering that I have like 60 games and a huge, huge backlog of games... It will be like 5 years until I actually play them all and go back to enjoy my others. With the upcoming AWESOME games coming out, I will probably get those as well. On top of that, I just joined ps+ and downloaded 4 games in my 1st month. I could possibly make a huge backlog from ps+ on top of my original collection. I said that I will get the PS4 in 2 years but it will probably be 3 or 4 years.

Games just stopped being developed for the ps3 a couple years ago. You've got another 5 years at least.

As long as the electricity runs through it. Some people value games that are generations old and some people value space. The PS3 takes up space. You might have to find room or make room. If you have space, electricity, and not deterred by non current graphics then you can milk the PS3 for a long time.

You'll be fine if you intend on catching up with a lot of games. Plus there's another few years left of decent support it seems. Go for it.

You can milk it for a few more years after the PS4 releases that's for sure. Still going to be supported and still some awesome exclusives coming out for it this year and possibly the next.

After The Last of Us, God of War Ascension and GTA V i'm pretty much done with this generation bring on the next baby!

There were a ton of awesome game releases this generation. You'll be hooked for about two years or so I guess. Until you given to the next-gen consoles.

Scary thing is that this year will be over before we know it, each year goes quicker and quicker. Do yourself a favor and buy a nice PS3 bundle, get a whole bunch of games on the cheap, lock yourself up and enjoy.

There are hundreds of games out for ps3 and more coming so you can get years out of it, and since they are still making games add a couple more years to that.

The type of parenting which I hate is the one that the parent is extremely judgemental and loves to criticise other parents about their parenting to make themselves feel better about how they parent. Sounds like you have a big head.
