ive had my new ps3 slim for about 3 weeks now. its on wood in a neutral temperature room. there is around 30-40cm of ventalation behind it. I vacuum behind it once a week. I know i sound paranoid about it but im a previus xbox 360 owner and it broke 3 times.

...You are doing just fine, I can essentially guarantee that if your PS3 ever breaks, it was not your fault.

Your the same way as I am. Unlike the 360 as Im sure you know, the PS3 (especially slim) does not break easily. Sure there are a few manufacturing mistakes, but if you care for your PS3 it most certainly will last for a long time.

You should be fine with that sounds roughly the same way I have mine set up. The one problem I did have was the laser died on me, but I don't think that had anything to do with me

I'm a bit paranoid too after having my fat PS3 get the YLoD. One thing I found with my PS3 slim is that whenever I have it lying flat, the underside of the PS3 tends to get heated pretty quickly. I keep mine standing up to prevent the underside from getting too hot.

With that much care I wouldn't be worried if I were you.
