NO this is not a thread asking how long my battery will last. This is a thread asking how long my PSP can last before it dies out completely(bricked/bad LCD screen and so forth) I just bought it three days ago. It's a PSP-2000 Star wars limited edition. I have a PSP travelling case for it. I have a screen protector for it. I have those eye-glasses fabric cleaners to clean my screen. I recharge whenever I don't use it. I play at full-brightness. And I sometimes use rubbing alcohol(75%) to clean around the buttons. So how long will my PSP last until it dies out? How long did yours last? And do you have anymore tips on how to take care a PSP?

Based on how you plan on taking care of it, I would say 5+ years.

I imagine the PSP could last 10 years if looked after it's a very reliable machine but then it would be because it's made by sony.

10 minutes starting now. I'd start playing if I were you...

JK, Let's just say that it will still be in good condition by the time you're done with it. Considering that there will be more things coming in the next 6 or so years, and you will be tempted to invest in them, your PSP will last much longer your interest in it.

As long as you don't drop your PSP in a semi-flooded Charleston SC during hurricane season running from a water spout then you'll be alright :P This is something that happened to me and believe or not my PSP actually still works. It's a launch PSP (1000 series) and it still has it's original battery. It only lasts abotu 9-20 minutes off the charger but hey, I'm not buying a new battery till I have to.
