How long will that welcome back program thingy last?

I don't want to activate my free ps+ yet, I want to activate it next month.

Will that still be possible?

One more thing lets say something happens and you lose the free games you downloaded from that welcome back program. Will you be able to redownload them or will they be gone for good?
