How long will you wait to purchase a PS4? I really want to get one but feel that I should wait for a while.

I choose to wait 2 years. Maybe more. I usually buy my consoles at the end of a generation or console cycle. I like to stack up on games i missed.

Since the longest poll option is 2 years, I'll go with that. I am hoping to finish my collection by years end 2016, but will need to put in some serious work. Looking more likely to be around mid to late 2017.

I just got one with Second Son, Killzone, Wolfenstien and Bound by Flame. Im pleased so far, just wish there was more exclusives. Seems as if the multi platform games this gen and last gen dont have that great of graphics as I would have hoped.

I got one, but there aren't many games, but I play battlefield 4 and madden and stuff so I'm good.

I bought one for inFamous. I shouldn't have bought a PS4.

I like to get a console as soon as it comes out. Whatever games I've missed from last gen well I've missed, but since I have an interest in most genres except sports games, there's not much I miss out on.

I'd love to have one right now, but I still have a good chunk of games to go through on the PS3, and I know getting a PS4 would just interrupt that. Plus there's only a few games I want to play on the PS4 right now, so I don't think I'm missing out on too much. At earliest, I'll have one later this summer, but it will probably be longer than that.

Not until either a redesign or more games come out. While $400 is not expensive, it is a waste of money for me right now since there are no PS4 games I want to play. MGSV was the game I was going to buy my PS4 with but I could just play it on my old console. Maybe by the time games I want to play come out there will even be a price cut.

I think in the first half of 2015. Don't feel like getting one now and hopefully a bigger HDD SKU and better DS4 battery life will be upon us then. The value of the thing will be ridiculous with 18+ months of PS+ games saved up too.

I bought mine on launch day. No regrets here. Sure, there aren't a lot of games, but I make plenty use out of it with the games I own plus the streaming of Netflix and Amazon Prime.

I waited 6 months.....I always get them early so I can actually HAVE FUN playing next gen and being in the mix. Get one now and enjoy it, we can all be dead tomorrow so live life.

I completely understand about financials. Before I moved out of my parents house I bought all the components to have IMO, a GREAT entertainment set up. All my friends called me stupid (especially women) but to this day their set up can't compete with mine. Everyone is still floored by my set up. Why did I chose to do it in that order? Because, I knew once I moved out and started paying rent I wouldn't be able to afford anything of really high value.

So I would suggest either getting it now, before your child is born (because you'll find a way to provide) or as others have stated wait a year or two, probably by one on Black Friday to get the best deal.

well .. for me i was waiting for must have games to be released . now we have infamous second son and uncharted 4 next year ..if they announce the last guardian at any point and say that its coming only on ps4 ..ill go buy 1 but until then it can ...and i kinda want to get a ps vita 1st as i already have a lot of games to play on ps3

I plan on getting a PS4 and X1 next year, I wanted to see more stable hardware options (such as X1 with no Kinect), no RROD or YLOD situations, and enough games that are not split resources between two gens. I think all that has come to pass so I will see what my money situation is by the end of the year ( I am disabled) and try to get them as soon as possible, with the PS4 first.

I have a 2 year old son, so I know what you mean about not having the money for games, ha.

That being said, I went ahead and bought my Xbox One while I had the money with taxes this year, instead of waiting and trying to scrounge up the money for the games and the console when the time eventually came. Im picking up a PS4 when I get my taxes next year because then, The Order and Infamous: Second Son will be out and Bloodborne will be out soon too. Im excited, ha.

I'd say wait until 2015... There will be some multiplat games by the end of this year that could be worth playing but apparently no one told us early adopters that next-gen didn't begin until 2015. By that time, a lot of the games we're playing now will be marked down considerably and you'll have things to keep you busy until all the newer games get marked down. lol

I have 2 since day 1 of launch. Makes no sense to wait, unless you can't afford it.

For people who have gaming as a main hobby there's no excuse not to keep up

@Jaysonguy: That's not a very good reason... Car enthusiasts should buy every car! I bought a PS4 when inFamous came out and inFamous was just good so in reality I'd still be fine without owning a PS4.. I would definitely want one by this fall if I didn't have one already though.

I'm waiting for a while. Have a backlog of PS3 games I want to play still and that are still coming out to the system.

when lords of the fallen, bloodborne and no man's sky is out. I'm sick of ps3 games, bring on the new school hopefully with some nice innovations over the rehashed slow to load stuff we were getting on the ps3.

I agree enjoy the games while we're still alive.

PS4 won't have any good games that I can't get on my Xbox One until 2015, so I can't justify buying one until there is a game that I can buy with it. I think I will probably get one in February when The Order 1886 is released if it lives up to the hype. If that game disappoints then I will have to wait for Bloodborne or Uncharted 4.

A year at best. Gonna get a PS Vita before a PS4 in the mean time.

infamous is a great game, on 2nd play-through doing good karma, i got ps4 more or less at launch. dont regret it :) kept my ps3 as i use it from time to time to play a bit of last of us multi-player, id say why wait there are some good games to come. although only issue is they bring the games out for both gens. wolfenstien the new order works like a dream on ps4 and i really enjoyed it watchdogs is perfection. overall id say get one and enjoy 64 player bf4 :D

It really depends I think. Logically, I think I should wait 2 years because then there would hopefully be a solid library. However, I don't think I can stop myself from buying one when Batman Arkham Knight releases.

Why wait, why bother buying a PS3 version of the game if there is a PS4 version as well but with better visuals etc. There hasn't been many releases for it yet, but come October you'll start seeing more. So far I'm enjoying it and looking forward to the future.

Every launch has shitty titles cause developers don't know jack shit about PS4 coding or optimization. As usual must wait least 2 years until the developers get their shit together. Lets be honest, the current games don't look that much different or groundbreaking from previous gen. Heck I can name a couple F2P game on PC that's better than the trash on PS4 right now. Next gen my ass that's pathetic. I love SONY, but until they actually make a game worth playing not getting my money because all my PS4 would be doing is collecting dust. I'm not buying a next gen console to play mediocre indie games, prev gen titles, and cash grab copy cats. I will buy a next gen console when they start making "next gen games".

As bad as I want to go get one right now, I haven't yet simply cuz there aint that many games available for it yet. I will wait another 2-3 months and get one. Maybe by then prices will go down again! Hopefully! Either way I will still get one.

I told myself I would wait until it gets cheaper and there are more games out for it but I think I'll probably get the white ps4 Destiny bundle.

I picked 2 years or more. I would have got one if they did announce the ps1/2 emulator. But since that didn't happen I'm stuck waiting for good games to come, and I don't think there will be a slew of good jrpgs on the PS4 for at least 2 years.

Honestly, I don't regret buying it. Resogun (updates and the $5 dlc offers a ton more content), Guacamelee Super Turbo Championship Edition, Killzone co-op mode, Mercanary Kings, Second Son are all good enough reason to own one. Plus the future game line up is amazing so why not?
