so, i can't assure you that it's up to 7 controllers ... but anyway, almost no game will have more than 4 controllers on at a time

most team sports games will support more than 4 controllers.  Soccer, Football, basketball, maybe baseball.

no game that supports split-screen will ever have more than 4 players.  in sports games, all of the players are on the same screen.  there is no need for split-screen in sports games. 

i think other bluetooth devices (ie headset, remote) dont count as one of the 7 controllers

it supports 7 bluetooth devices.  devices would be controllers, headsets, remotes, etc.
